I've had open bottles for 2 years with no degrading effects but not sure about 5 years, but i would probably get new ones.

Well they are the nutrients that I have always used. My gallon of Bloom is almost empty and was thinking about switching nutrients to another brand or if not then buying a new bottle of Bloom. I use the Lucas formula so only Micro and Bloom. A couple years back I bought a new bottle of the Grow because the gallon jug I had of it, had gone to a yellow colour instead of green. Also I think some of the Bloom has solidified inside the bottle and it like rattles when I shake it. Sorry for the rambling. That hash makes me talk a lot

Yes they do expire, have you ever shaken your nutes and heard that sound like "pebbles or stones" are in your nutes. thats when it's time ! I would switch it out, wouldn't hurt.

yeah, if a bottle of nutrients is more than 5 years old I would go out and get a replacement for it.

That just sounds like you're asking for trouble. I mean, it might be okay, but it might not - and you won't find out until it's too late to do antyhing about it.

Time to head back to a nute store.
