ah c'mon. a bottle of nutes is 6$. anything goes. more nitrogen(N) percentage for vegetation and more phosphorous(P) for flowering - but it doesn't really matter until you'll get more experienced. Just buy something that you afford and be careful, use only half the quantities on the label. . But remember: cannabis is a weed and unless you get special breed seeds(from seedbank) it should go ok with whatever it finds in the soil. However, if you grow in pots and your plant is big, than depending on the pot size and the original composition of the soil you'll find out that there will be a deficiency at some point. Also the watering technique can deplete(flush) your soil nutrients. I'd be more concerned with light and ventilation.

Yes you need some but you can get by with only a small amt. if you have good soil you dont need much for veg, but when it comes to flower you will need more stuff.

I know it's easier said than done, but the more you put into it, the more it will give back...good nutes can mean alot.

50$? go to any super market, in the flower(gardening) section. you'll find tones for bucks. Depending on the setup, the use of nutrients really can make huge differences. but it also need some 'getting used to' for the grower. after few grows you'll know exactly.

I grew for years with just a small bottle of babybio that cost 1.99.
Your results with just using lower grades of nutes or none at all will show in your bud though.
Buds will be smaller.

I still use babybio now if my small plants show any signs of deficiency as i wouldn't want to feed them with anything high strength.
Decent nutes are something i have still never used but i am going to on this grow and mine will be arriving soon:blsmoke:

If you're gonna spend $50 get yourself something specifically for MJ, don't go to the hardware store and get rose ferts or something. For $50 you should be able to get GH (General Hydroponics) 3 part, which would probably surprise you with results. Any 3 part or even 2 part solution (name brand) will give your plants everything they need, just be sure you're getting what they need...my advice is to buy your ferts from a hydroshop, or at least look into ratios and ppm before you go buy something not made for MJ.

Assuming you're in soil I'd use plain old MiracleGro. Used it on my first ever grow and it worked fine throughout the cycle. Added bloom nutes for flowering, that got a bit more expensive but was worth it. Now I'm into hydro and have maybe $300 worth of liquids and powders for every possibility. Funny how that escalates.
