Do I Need More Nutes?

I use GH nutes I am in 5th week of flowering and the buds are from 1 inch to 3 inches long and the buds have white pistils all over them but not much smell, should I give them something else to boost their potency and if so what should I use?:blsmoke:

Do yourself a favor and invest in a TDS meter, you can get a cheap one thats efficient for around 40 bucks. HANNA makes it. If you experiment to much with the Nutes, you run the risk of giving them to much and burning or possibly a lockout, if they look healthy and dont show any signs of a deficiency, then you are on the right track!

yes the only thing that makes buds nice is K/potassium. it regulates water in the plant and it makes the "fruit" large, dense, and tasty. heres an example i use, orange trees that dont have much K produce golf ball sized fruit, orange trees with lots of K make grapefruit size fruit. see the correlation. K will make you understand the meaning of dense nugs, they wont budge when you squeeze em.

also K should be the highest nute throughout the grow. mj really eats that stuff the last half of flowering. ebay sells 5lbs granulated K for $20

There isn't enough information to properly answer your question. Maybe you do need more nutes or maybe you are exactly where you should be at 5 weeks. With what i know about your situation either could be true. Pictures would really be a big help, as would the details of your grow - strain, lighting used, etc.

Don't worry about smell. The strain I run has zero smell till it's chopped and it's 2 hits and quit.

Big +1 on the K.

At 5 weeks in, might be a little late for kelp meal to do much. Perhaps liquid kelp?

One thing for sure would be Pro-Tekt from Dyna-Gro. It's a silica supplement and also a good source of K. I highly recommend it. Helps prevent mold and such and a shot of K. It's a win-win. Just don't over apply. A qt is ~$15 or so and you only need 1/2tsp/gallon of water.

I use 150w HPS lighting with oscilating fan. The nutes I am using flower are Bio Thrive 2-4-4, Bio root 1-1-1, Bio Bud 0.5-0.1-1 CaMg + supplement and Hi Brix Molasses for plants 1TBS per gallon H2O. I am growing EM (Early Misty) my girls are 4 and 5ft tall with lots of buds they seem to be doing very well very lush and green no pests or mold. Thanks for the input I will try and post some pics. What specific Organic brand of K to go with these nutes should I use?

honestly the K2O(potassium) in shultz and miracle grow fertilizer is the same K20 in the hydro stores nutes, but everyone has their ideas ya know. i recommend flora nova bloom 4-8-7 and flora nova grow 2-1-6 if you want to buy those name brands. but personally i would just keep feeding it with your nutes cuz they already lean towards K. if you really want some extra though, i buy mine from ebay; 5lbs of K2O is $20 total.

If the girls look healthy and lush then you don't need nutes. From the list you should have no K problems. Maybe you could push some more to increase the yield with something like the aforementioned liquid kelp, or a liquid fish/kelp mix but it might be too late depending on the strain's flowering time. I'm a big fan of Neptune's Harvest Fish/Seaweed mix if you choose to go that route.

i run the 3 part gh series along with bud candy, liquid and dry koolbloom, and hygrozyme just gta follow the instructions. i mix one gallon full strength then split it up into to 4's 4quarts equal a gallon therefore they get 1/4 strength do this with all nutes and you cant go wrong. if some like it 1/2 strength then give 8 quarts to each, makes measuring real simple. oh and im a water guy.

1/2 strength is the ticket(900ppm-1500ppm), anything leass or more results in small leaves and slow growth
That depends on the strain, im currently at 740 in the first week of flower and they are growing like weeds...This strain is pretty sensitive to the nutes, im gradually increasing the ppm about every 4 days when i top off, i just increased from 640-740 and i think by the weekend i should be good to be up to around 900, i would rather play it safe and not risk having to flush. One downfall is i have 6 pots in a 25 gal res and one of them is outgrowing the rest and shading alot, i have to train around it with the others. I waited to long to set up the scrog so im going to wait till next time to try it.
