In my garage there's 1 big circuit breaker that's rated at 225 amps I believe, and a little circuit breaker next to it but I couldn't read the amperage. I can provide any other info needed if requested. I'm planning to run this equipment in my upstairs bedroom closet. Am I going to need electrical upgrades? I hope not..if so where do I even start with that lol. Equipment:----2x 400w Lumateks----2x 240CFM Booster Fans----1x 440CFM Ventech Inline Fan & Filter Combo----1x 9K BTU Haier A/C Unit----CO2 Setup
2 Booster fans, 1 inline fan and the CO2 regulator wont use up more than 20a on 120v
9K BTU AC would use 20a
800w / 120v = 6.66a * 1.25 = 8.33a <----thats your amperage for 120v Breaker Recommended = 15a 120v
800w / 240v = 3.33a * 1.25 = 4.16a <----thats your amperage for 240v Breaker Recommended = 15a 240v

The 1.25 is a multiplier for continous loads that run for 3 hours or more

60a subpanel would do for that grow setup but remember to calculate the voltage drop for the wire run.

My A/C only uses 8 amps. The fans probably use like 3-4..or am I getting confused with what you're saying?

Do you really think a subpanel is necessary? I suppose I need the electrician to check my service out first before you answer that. How would I go about installing a sub panel though? It will require wiring to my room I'm guessing..Sounds expensive to me and rather difficult/something I wouldn't want to do myself.

Damn you're right..I need at least 160 amps to safely run Circuit A at 12 amps. What do you think the chances are my service is a high enough amperage? Idk what details to provide exactly..I have a 2 story house with about 4k sq. ft. if that's relevant.
i have a 125a service and its a duplex but I have 6000w room, 10k BTU Portable, 1 10" inline fans, 1 8" inline fan with temp controllers and 4 recirculating fans plus a titan kronus 4 room controller and about 4 t5s running of a 100a and its running perfectly. I just have my rooms setup to run off peak time and I dont use my washer, dryers or cooking range at that time.

Yeah I think I'm just going to look into extension cords instead of sub panels :p

Any pics of your setup btw?

AC uses 8a but if its running for 3 hours or more you have to calculate the 1.25 to it because of wire temp and continuous load run.

Subpanel is recommended but not necessary just easier cleaner setup and you know each breaker is dedicated to that room instead of finding out you got a receptacle in your room that powers many things and just trips all the time due to maxed out amperage. Check on craigslist for subpanel and the most expensive cost is from wire and electrician labor. hope that helps

Do you think Hortilux Super Enhanced HPS bulbs and Hortilux Metal Halide bulbs will be ok on tehe super lumens setting?
I was reading on the Grener's site...they have no data on using the Super Lumens setting and bulb life, so really IDK. There are some guys on the forum who run super lumens the last 3 weeks of a grow. Personally I won't bother using it IMHO. BTW you have email :)

Here's the pictures I promised... Sorry for the delay but I've been really busy with the finishing touches to my growroom. By the way this is NOT finish by any mean...
