do i NEED a mother?

so i dont have enough space to keep a mother in one room and grow the clones in another so i was wondering if i can just grow each plant straight from seeds into budding females and skip the cloning process (yes i am aware ill have to buy many seeds and i am only growing for myself really)...will this be ok?

It's easier to just keep cloning off clones,if you like your strain you don't have to keep mothers just right before you throw your plant to flower take clones then clone those clones before you flower them and so on instead of buying a shitload of seeds.

Hell yes, thats what I started doing. I got a few strains going that I like and keep taking cuttings. You will find that you have more clones than you know what to do with. I was growing in a 2x4x8 closet and now I use the closet for cloning and vegging and turned the spare bedroom into my flower room. If it keeeps up like this I may have to move to a bigger place.lol

you dont need a mother plant.. its just as easy to fill a garden with all the same clones without a mother as it is with a mother.. ok.. maybe not QUITE as easy.. but pretty damn close... basically the first time you take clones take about 5 cuttings from the girl you would choose to be a mother.... so now you have 5 clones from the original plant you want to use... then, once those are ready to clone, you take 5 from each of them, and all of a sudden you have 25 clones of the same original girl without having to have a mother... then you just keep taking clones from them and sustaining the heritage line without having to keep a mother going or taking the space up with a mother.. the only difference between doing it this way verse having a mother is it takes a little longer to fill the garden with the clones you want... but again, you dont have to worry about keeping a mother alive or taking up space with it..

i understand wat cloning means but i am living in a house with four friends and only have my room - one closet - to grow in so i can only grow in the veg OR flowering state so even if i did just grow one mother and clone about 9 ish from that plant i wuld have to kill the mother in order to veg and flower the clones...its pretty much all or nothing either all plants veg or all plants flower...therein liesthe problem

dude, you can just buy a teeny tiny proppogator to keep the clones in alive. you could probably jimmy rig something into a deep drawed if you wanted. the clones only really need a cfl tube light over them and you should be able to keep em for a month or so, they'll look like crap, but they'll pull back once you re-pot em. short story, clones can be kept in a very small space if needed, heck, you could buy a $25 computer case off ebay, stick a couple of cfl lights in the top of it, and stick it under your desk with 5 clones in it. (you say it's for yourself, how many plants are you hoping to grow at once?

Yeah you can keep clones in a tight space, some cfls a fan and a cardboard box and bam veg room or veg box lol.And again you don't need to keep a mother plant you can keep cloning off clones.

a cheap comp box with the cfl's wuld be a very good possibiility...so i wuld grow one mother take say five clones and put them in my big grow box and veg them, then take some clones from one of those and put the in my comp box with cfl's and let them chill there on say a12/12 schedule while i harvest my other plants then repeat the process?

and for myselfprly just trying to grow maybe 5 plants at a time and hope 2-3 feminize so i can harvest

I don't like cloning I prefer to grow from seed so I can experience as many strains as possible and I get tired of only smoking one strain and knowing the high I'm going to get makes getting high not as fun to me.

If you put them on 12/12 they will start to flower. Try 18/6 instead.
