what is the use of a lens compared to no lens (im not talking about theory but if the real world effect of these lenses it worth the bucks)? Or are they necessary to keep the led away from too much water in the air ?
im planning to do a 2x2space with 4 veros.
So my questions: is a lens mandatory or even worth the bucks ?If yes what lens in particular would you recommend?

Just use bare cobs, they work just fine that way. Lenses are for open spaces where you want to focus the light .

Yep. I run the same combo in my space. I originally used Angelina reflectors but found that I got much better uniformity without them. Unless you're planning on hosing down your fixtures with a garden hose, I see no benefit in using them or lenses.

Would you use reflectors in a 3x3 with 400w vero 29 ?

I think that unless you're running your Veros below 50w, using a reflector is going to promote hotspots no matter how you design it.

one last stupid question :D how far should the light be away (is a 1.6meter box enough or better 2meter ?)?

Trick question-light should be close enough to get sufficient intensity and far away enough to get adequate distribution...

yeah i know that ... but still with no experience i wonder if the 1.6meter high grow box is enough space or if i should better get 2meter heigth version. i guess ill go with the 2meter even if the box is too big( but its 1.2x1.2x2m for 80bucks or .8x.8x1.6m for 65bucks ...). Just gonna use some styrofoam as wall inside the box.

I don't use a tent, but when I have grown a bubbler bucket in a 6' tall closet it's a close fit. I'd put the tallest tent you can fit into your space.
