Do I have a hermaphrodite?

Hello! This is my first post, hopefully someone can help me out! :D

I have some sativas that are 16 days into flowering, one of the plants finally started spitting out those little pistils :)) But it seems to have little masses that resemble pollen sacs too. I could be wrong, as haven't seen any actual pollen yet and it could just be part of the bud. They are mixed in with the pistils, and on every node with them.

Yep, good ole herman. You probably got about a week to 10 days before he starts smacking things with baby powder.

Darn, well thanks! I'm glad I know for sure now. If I let it do it'self, would the seeds from it be any better or worse?

In my opinion, I would get rid of it. Unless its your only plant and you don't want to start over. Also, sometimes they will show the hermie on one or two branches and the rest will be normal. I would not breed it though. If you want female seeds, its best to start with a female that doesn't herm on its own, at least not that early. If you were to let that one pollinate itself, you will probably be looking at a high rate of hermie seeds. You may get a few good females out of it, but you will have to constantly watch for balls.

I agree with delvite if its not a lot of sacks just cut'em off I've had 1 hermie plant and all I did was cut off the nuts lol and had a few seeds 7 to be exact and they were female seeds I know this because I grew 4 of the 7 and gave the rest to a buddy who also had female plants from the hermie seeds I gave him so don't give up on the plant unless u really want

Yea man unfortunately she is a hermi plant. Also looks like your in your earlier stages of flowering. Just a suggestion, u may want to cut losses now. While you can pick off the male parts its real early in flower and they will pry continue to sprout more male parts as flowering progresses. Which means you would have to look the whole plant over all the time. Some of those male parts can hide in the flower pretty good too. If you decide to keep her just make sure you give her a good check for pollen sacs. Me personally she would be gone as quick as I noticed it.

damn, sorry to see this. was this a regular or feminzed seed?

im not sure sure that a seed from this plant would produce a hermie 100%. it may produce a female or hermie if it was a feminzed seed to begin with.

I'm sure there's a good chance it'll have some fem seeds along with hermie seeds. How many plants are you growing at the moment?

that is not a few balls as stated earlier. too many to cut off. cull the shemale

i finish yet, drop genetics for producing a single nanner late in flower. this thing would get set on fire NOW.

Definitely a Herm. I've grown Herm's for the last 2 grows and they are an excellent learning experience. That's why I can give you some advice on this plant: IMO, cut the bitch and take your loses. She is showing very strong signs of giving you WAY MORE pollen than you can control. By the time she matures, your whole room will be white with snow (pollen).

Personally, I think you have major stress in your grow room. You need to isolate that problem ASAP.

If you decide to ride it out, you need to cut/pluck EVERY ball and nanner you can find! If you do this, you will walk away from this experience a better grower and you will understand MJ like never before.
