Do dogs that ran away come back?

During a remodeling my landlord left the gate open and 2 of my dogs broke out somehow. Wondered off and got lost yesterday. I search everywere with no luck and i cant call the pound for they are not registered. I hear storys of peoples dogs getting lost and a far far place like 45 miles away and the dog found his way home a month later. So im hoping my dog can do the same since thier within the city, they had a few experiences roaming the streets but i was always searching till i found them but in this case they roamed all night when i was sleeping.
I know thiers alot of rui members have dogs protecting thier crops and owners, my question is for a dog that was not neglected, been here all thier life and was treated well, what are the chances of them cooming back?

Good chance of them coming home if they wandered off, I hope so!

What breed are they?

I would check daily with the dog pound. Believe me they really don't care so much about the dog tags as much as NOT having to put your dogs down because you didn't call or go in person to check.

The people that work there usually have very big hearts and would 'love' seeing your dogs going home with you. As compared to having to do what they don't want to.

Please check with the pound. And yes, they can wander back home, but not likely if you didn't take them for walks around the neighborhood.

Ya, I'd check with the pound. I once had a husky that we could not let loose or she would take off and she got out 3 months before xmas and came home on xmas day, NO JOKE. Talk about a xmas present. We thought she was gone for good and were quite surprised the pound hadn't gotten her. So, if you treated the dog well most likely they will make their way back home unless the pound picks them up.

It really depends on how far your neighbor(that always hated the dogs but could not tell you) drove them off... Or if they .... well I won't say any more. Good luck finding the dog!

I lost my one dog for 4 days. Looked everywhere, the whole time. Had my other dog trying to find him, had friends helping me off and on, put pics up around the neighborhood. Called the pound, put his description on the radio.

I thought either someone found and kept him, or he was dead in a ditch somewhere. Totally distraught.

Woke up the one morning, seen a giant ploom of dust puffin' behind the back fence, in the neighbors yard. Had a feeling, so I ran out in the back yard, and there was my dog, tormenting the neighbors' dog. They were at work and their yard was open, so they didn't take him. He just decided to roam I guess for a few days.

When I hopped the fence and grabbed him, I had to walk all the way around the block with him, and he looked like a sketched out coke head. All wired, and pumped from his 'block party'.

By the time we got back to the yard, he was dead ass tired. He fell asleep on the couch with me, and he pretty much slept for a day or so.

Hope you find your dog, ask the neighborhood kids or offer them 20$ if they find it.

That ungrateful bastard, I wouldn't take him right back even if he does show up, I wouldn't let him in at least not the first night, If he wanted to be their he should have thought about that before he went and ran off on you.

Usually they come back, they know where thier bread and butter is. My dog had escaped a few times but he always finds his way home. If all else fails yeah, check the pound

look by water. One of our dogs ran awAy this last mothers day and It was found in a creek a week later. They need water so look through all the creeks, ponds, lakes nearby. A younger smarter dog migght come back but an older slower dog is more likely to be lost. For sure their gonna be by wAter. They need it

if your dog runs away it's not happy... you have to work better with that dog... i've owned dog my whole life, i can't remember living in a house without a dog and i came home from school hundreds of times to find my dogs sitting at the door..... they didn't run away..... they were scared and alone.... but running away??? that's unheard of.... even the dog i have now, it's adopted, at first he'd run to the door to try and run away, now i can walk him without a leash...... do a better job with your dog man.....

most of the time that dogs do run away, they dont like to and wont come back.

You might try posting on facebook. Facebook will let you post missing dog posts and will show up on all other accounts listed in your zip code region. I have no idea how to do it though but I have seen missing ads from local residents.

well, they'll charge you to register it, if you want to micro-chip it, and if you take too long they'll spay/neuter it and it'll cost you...

what the hell does it matter anyways??? i can sort of see why that dog ran away....

Post missing dog fliers around your neighborhood. That's how we got our dog back the story was in the newspaper and everything. The day she came home was one Of the happiest days of our lives but we worked our asses off posting fliers everywhere, ads on craigslist, the whole nine yards. Good luck to u I pray that the pup comes home.

i'd say that's just wrong, but they eat dogs in china.... if you don't believe me, go to china, go off the beaten path into the 'ghetto'...

if it moves, it's dinner..... you better believe it!!

Well i went searching all night with no diced looked for road kill and found nothing looked at the pound online in the nearest to my home and found nothing. Will search in person tommarow. If they are not in the pound they are roaming the streets and will hopefully come home. I know they not dead becuase i saw no road kill in a 10 mile radius. Its safe to say they not dead.
