do buds need light?

thing is on my last grow i was really paranoid about the light not getting to all the buds so i was tying the leaves back sort of thing. so my question is is it only the leaves that photosynthesize or do the buds do it aswell?

thats a good question. I know alot of people say that the buds need light so tuck the leaves out of the way, but I don't know if that is the reason or what. would like to know the answer myself.

surely yr buds are covered in lots of little leaves too!?????!...i know if u cut yr fan leaves off whilst budding it can reduce bud size quite considerably, cause the fan leaves supply the bud with nourishment.else,i'd say just drench those bitches in as much light as possible....ALL OF THEM!!!

Think of your leaves as Solar panels and your buds as your combi boiler powered by the panels.

You should trim away leaves near the stem to let light get to the smaller buds. I trim a lot of the bottom leaves and big fan leaves in favour of the newer leaves. Works for me.
