DIY with Quantum Boards

I drill little holes in the angle aluminum and use rigid "key rings" for hanging with rope ratchet. Dent the angle aluminum with a center punch or nail before drilling, otherwise your drill bit will slide everywhere. You would also need to do this to mount boards.

I'm learning how to do all this on the fly!!! I know about the wiring part,its the building the frame part that gets me!!! But when you get down to it,it's really pretty easy once the weed smoke clears the brain...

I built my frame out of aluminum angle and used the angle as heatsinks, it's just 1/16" thick with eb gen 2s at 1050mA and they dont get hot at all.

Decided to play around with the QB96s Warp Rig / Sunblaster rigs .......
I temporarily pulled the Pure UV and 10000k finisher bulbs.

I added Agromax Pure Par bulbs duals ...
– PurePAR Spectrum:
Target wavelengths of 420-470nm (blue) and 620-670nm (red )

I also have the Agromax 3000k Bloom bulbs for comparative testing. Figured I would see how a bump in particular spectrum
would be on plant response ... and so far they are liking it. The KKP are beginning to preflower and the stomper is finishing in a week or so .

I used AgroMax t5 4000K for vegging for years. When the price went up, I went with Ushio 4ks... they last at least 2x as long as as the Agros, and my veggers seem happier.

I'm just curious if you have used other tubes before you settled on the AgroMax? That 10000K seems like it might be nice for finishing.

In Canada "Metal Supermarkets" is a good place for angle aluminum etc. I have also bought HD for more dollar. Don't buy the nice finish stuff as it is too much. I think HD about $20 cdn for 8' 3/4"( could have been a bit more ). Metal supermarket was like $30 cdn for 16'. I have thought about 1/2 "angle aluminum since the QB96e fit better but would likly need to be more rigid.

In most cases when you can find a local metal supplier it will be atleast 25% cheaper than lowes and home depot. I bought my last angle from lowes just because it was convenient and not out of the way, 1/16"× 3/4" × 4' was $9.98 and 1/16" × 1-1/4" × 4' was $11.98, tad pricy compared to a metal supplier, even HD.

Just wanted to add if you go to metal supplier ,we have IMS - Industrial Metal Supply,K&H,.
Ask for rement (left over cuts )pay by weight .very cheap but you have spend time looking for sizes,

Think so??? It was a cool idea at the time,but after watching growmau5 build a frame so easy with a drill and rivet gun im going to do it right!!!

Its flimsy though... A WINDOW FRAME instead of a SCREEN would have been better cause its stronger...

The lightweight aluminum angle, even the smaller stuff works really good for framing. It may seem flimsy at first but once you get everything fastened together it really adds strength. When I built my cob setup everybody said go with 1/8" thick angle because the 1/16" is to flimsy but when I was in the store and had all the pieces I needed in my hand it was really heavy. I grabbed all the pieces in 1/16" and the weight alone changed my mind because coupled with the pin fin heatsinks it would have brought the tent down. I used the 1/16"x 3/4" and when I got done she was stiff as a board, early on I was worried but once I had all the pieces fastened tight I was glad I chose the lighter stuff.

Tried Reptilsun but passed on them quickly .... Agromax Pure UV is pretty intense ( glasses and exposure caution ).
Solacures are a little pricey but been happy with Agromax so far.

FedEx dropped the driver off on the front porch and someone walked off with it... Unfuckinbelievable... I'm about to give it up for a minute I think... Maybe I'm trying to do too much...
