I have a light I built outta 4 qb96 boards running at around 200 watts. It's not the most efficient but it grows some really good shit every time. I use a xlg-240-h-ab which I would not recommend at full power it runs to hot for my liking.
I plan on using running 2 on the 240 2100.

Cobs just came in, I payed $73 for 20 cmu2287 cobs shipped, they're each 240 watt max, or 82 watt typical. I plan on running them no higher than 50 watts each.

I've been checking out datasheets looking at rated efficiency and spectrum all that shit, and ran across some interesting info. On the specs all the ratings are at a case temp of 85° C. The charts show how much better they'll perform if you keep the case temp at 25° C.

Going for a diy mcpcb/heatsink gonna do 3535 diodes with isolated thermal pad and a 2835 strip. There is a ton of supplies but here's kinda what I'm going for. The dielectric layer is gonna be the hardest part, I have a boron nitride coating I think will work.

I felt like these were a good deal, won some $ at the casino decided to add to the stash 68 xpg3 royal blue on pcb stars for $0.11 each I went ahead and bought all of em. I got 100 xpe2 far red diodes for $0.23 each, I believe there are more of these available. And I bought 100 xpg3 4000k diodes on stars for $0.22 each and there are more of these available as well.

Arrow was good to me! I ordered like 16 BXEB strips which come from Bridgelux in a plastic tray with 20 slots, two per slot but you can only see the top one in each slot. When my order was filled the top tray in stock had eight strips missing from four slots. The harried picker counted 16 strips visible in the tray but didn't realize there were two strips per slot so they just sent me the whole tray instead of repacking the strips. I got twice as many strips as I ordered and paid for! With half the planned current I ended up ditching the heatsinking and just screwing the strips right into the wood top of the cab.

This last haul was a score I do believe, it's nice to find a deal on shit lol all started with a $ 0.38 cent bet at the casino won $120 and walked out I didn't even wanna be there. I bought these with some of that money after looking should got more there are other good deals on xhp 35, 50, and 70 diodes real cheap and already on boards, ill look it up later.20250112_144113.jpg20250112_144223.jpg20250112_144250.jpg20250112_144454.jpg

The 4000k stars are 70cri, which ain't my usual go to only got then cuz they were so cheap honestly. 70 cri is typically more efficient tho just need to add extra reds to even things out. Might make a veg light with these with some of the bluesScreenshot_20250113_054302_Drive.jpg

I think my plants look like crap with 80 CRI compared to bringing a leaf out into indirect sunlight. I can't imagine how sickly they appear at 70. Despite the lowered efficiency I'm considering 90 CRI when I upgrade.
