If you can source the materials for considerably less than what most suppliers are offering right now then hell yeah. From my personal findings it seems you can save 10-30ish% depending on what you do and who you source from. sometimes especially if trying to replicate high dollar lights it can cost more to diy it. Cutter Electronics has been the best supplier I’ve found with a very user friendly website and awesome diy kits.

For me I like the strips better for the uniform light coverage across the canopy. My lights run wall to wall.
