DIY tiny air scrubbin fo cheap (watchathink?

Just attempted my first c scrubber.. after much research i combined many other ideas.. hmmm

very easy and cheap(ish)

I have a closed chamber as home for my soon to be female, hopefully.
The area is not huge, i.e. 4x4x6
SO, to me, small area=small scrub-a-dub-dub needed

By My calculation i needed under a 200cfm exhaust fan w/ a carbon scrubber
I wondered around ebay and hardware outlets but did not find any epic deals..

SO, I am experimenting...
The lil babes are still vegging so I dont have an immediate need for getting the stank out.

I dug out my old air filter and got a fresh filter, just the required plain jane one.
Then, I went to lowes or home Dep and got a carbon filter for a whole house filter system, whatever the techy name for it is ha..
That c filter was only about $9.00 and lasts the whole house roughly 3 months, at least as advertised

i cut it up to the same size as the regular airfilter. WHich gave me 4 smaller squares.
Then I put two of these smaller c filters on my regular filter and shoved the lot into the filter compartment of the fan.
which was an easy fit bc the c filters just smushed together when i put the grate on, sealing everything together.

I then simply duct taped a 6" to 4" reducer to where the filtered air was expelled and clamped on 4" ducting to direct the air to the appropriate place

In my case, Im still experimenting, the ducting does a U-turn and blows back onto my lamps reducing heat and adding more airflow to the lil babes.

I have it rigged so that a normal fan sucks the air from around my plants and blows it directly into the air filter fan
maybe that combo makes my filter more powerful? as my original air filter fan is not the strongest of fans..

LOOOnggg story short...
I cut a disposable full house carbon filter and put two layers onto the normal filter of a normal airfilter unit and rigged shit so the filtered air has no choice but to cycle through the chamber and filter again.. and again and a....etc

What do you all think of this make shift scrubber??? any tips or jokes are fully appreciated

lemme hear you pros sing!!

beasy RIU.

If this doesn't work out for you www.AccessHydroponics.com has some pretty cheap stuff. They have a fan and Filter combo 109 buck 4", that would work great for the 4x4. My friend and I both bought 4x8x6.5' tent for 224 bucks free shipping. Its actually a pretty nice tent as well.

I like it, but have you tested temps with the lights running yet? If no air gets out it keeps heating up. I may have missed where you talked about cooling, too high.

Thanks, and no, I did not mention exhaughts/cooling i dont think...

Im still in veg and w/ cfl for now. So temp is not a huge issue. However the weather is heating up outside. Its been a few days since i have installed the scrubber and smell has been reduced a good bit. Ill run the ducting to outside my grow room and see if smell is still reduced. but yea.. that will def help with heat.. only thing is, my diy air filter is kinda bulky so its just on the floor and not sucking much of the hot upper air out.. hmmmmmm what to do now...

i love this shit!!!
