DIY PC Fan Ballast

Ok I didn't create this idea all on my own here, so keep the trolling to a minimum please! Any how I'm starting a DIY for controlling multiple Pc fans on one source, that may be able to be found in your average home. A laptop charger, or something along those lines will work. Make sure to CHECK and add up you're amps on the fans, and power source. My set up is nothing special, rubber maid container with two 120mm 5 star fans.. Maybe a no name? Idk but they were only 10.00$ for 2!!! And they work way better then i thought they would. So here it is guys/gals, hope it helps.

Ps: I checked for the same DIY on RIU already, it was very old and no longer had the pictures uploaded.
^ Thee only reason why i did another DIY for this subject, more up to date DIY.

Things you're going to need:

-Electrical tape
-Solder
-Flux
-Soldering iron
-Extra wire
-Wire cutters
-Power source: Old laptop battery charger*

Make sure the fans don't exceed the power. I cut the end off of the charger, and spliced the 2 fan wires into the end i cut off. It doesn't have a positive or negative, so which ever wire (red) or (black) on either side of the charger.

I used a molex adapter for both fans, only need 2 wires. I disconnected the other 2 wires from the molex for safety.

I was originally going to have 6 fans, ended up being to much air flow.

It is also optional to solder. I did for a better connection, however it can be done completely with out soldering. Most people say install a switch, i just turn off the main power supply and I'm just fine. Any way thanks for looking and commenting, maybe ill get a sticky. Happy growing!! :leaf:
