What size heatsink is that?View attachment 3443870 View attachment 3443870 I am building an 8 cob panel. 4 cxa 3070 3000k z2 and 4 cxa 3590 5000k cb.
The 5000k will begin veg dimmed. Turned up after a time. Followed by the 3000k dimmed and then increased.
I decided on running mean well hlg drivers, I think I like the c1050a. I have read so many scenarios I need some one-off confirmation.
Can someone please tell me the differences between say hlg185h-c700a, c1050a, and c1400a.
Is there a better choice for 3070s or 3590s? Or should I use the same?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello
Even me, has a noob, knew that you need a hlg-185-1400 for 4x3590 everyone speak about it everywhere on this thread. Just read a few post.
Almost everybody know it...
But to answer me about Vero10 there's no one's know!?!
May i run vero10 in parallel and anyone know a driver (not less than 90% efficient) for 8, 10 or 12 Vero10 and one for 1 Vero10 to get the vf of each cob if i have to pair them.
Thanks
Another thing:why do you put your cob this way: 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 and not 2, 2, 2, 2?
I believe that there's too much light in the middle or not enough on the sides.
Just draw some circle on a piece of paper to give you an idea of what I mean.
Am I wrong?

No, I've read many posts on here and 1400ma isn't the only driver in that series people around here use. @REALSTYLES used 2x c700a on his 8x cob unit. That is the one I based my build off. He says he is running his dialed back to 350ma too, for heat control of his room. I want to spend my driver money the best I can because I will likely change out emitters before drivers. This is a basement grow, so overheating is not too much of a concern.Hello

Yea he's fine with a 24" heatsink, I have a 28" heatsink with 8 cobs on it very similar to his, except my middle four are closer together and have two more singles on the outside. When measuring with my apogee meter the falloff is a lot less than what you would expect. Think it's the viewing angle of the cobs.Another thing:why do you put your cob this way: 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 and not 2, 2, 2, 2?

What do you think of the 1.25", should I push them in a bit?Yea he's fine with a 24" heatsink, I have a 28" heatsink with 8 cobs on it very similar to his, except my middle four are closer together and have two more singles on the outside. The 2,1,2,1,2 may have more even heat distribution on heatsink as compared to 2,2,2,2.You are dealing with a circular footprint. The overlap of 2,1,2,1 provides you more even coverage than 2,2,2,2. With 2,2,2,2 you get neglected areas in the middle of your canopy. Dont take my word for it......just ask PetFlora.......
Same as REALSTYLES10"x24" heatsink from heatsink usa.
The Meanwell HLG-185-c1050 says 95v-190v at 199.5 watts. The vero 29 CRI 80 says 36.8 volts. So is this the one I want to power 4 vero 29's?I think 4 would run on one of the meanwell hlg 185 series. Use a separate driver for the other one
Spacing in between cobs? I think that's pretty tight. But at the same time mine probably are not more then 3" apart driven at 700mA, lights are out for flower right now but at 350 mA at say.... 3 in spacing at the closest point and 6 in spacing at the furthest I am getting 750 umol at 14", at 350 mA.What do you think of the 1.25", should I push them in a bit?
1.5" on the 3590's and 1.25" for the 3070's I didn't pay attention that you were using 3070's but beforew you drill holes place the cob holder at 1.25" first on the 3070's ands see how it looks because you don't want them too close to the edgeView attachment 3443870 View attachment 3443870 I am building an 8 cob panel. 4 cxa 3070 3000k z2 and 4 cxa 3590 5000k cb.
