Loving this thread!, I love a bit of DIY, have a ton of stuff to make 'little projects' with, as I come from an aquatic/planted tank background, so have never grown in anything but hydro, but I now have 5 20lt air pots that I plan on using in my next grow, thinking of a clay pebble base, rest coco coir...not sure how I could read the run off correctly in a drain to waste drip feed system though.... All the plants would be draining together, so all the run off would be mixed up.... :wall:

you could just buy a direct media ppm pen

at that point, I'd get one that does ph too!
That's a new one to me buddy!, I got pH meters, tds meters, ec truncheon, temp probes, and a water/pH soil meter somewhere, one of the basic 2 pronged majigamies from the garden centre style ones... And a load of water purification gear, full on RO, or HMA, or a mixture of both... Lol!.
Never grown in soil, just rock wool in hydro, so I am on a learning curve here for sure!.

Those two prong ones aren't accurate I'm talking about a nice one. But there are ways around it -- but to know what each plant is really taking in it is nice to take good measurements directly in the medium itself.

This is an old thread just about waterfarm/diy WF mods..
This one is using 2 igloos.. One to grow in, the other as a reservoir... It also uses a water column..
