DIY grow pot vs typical grow pot

i was wondering how my grow pot would be compared to your typical grow pots (( http://shop.simplyhydro.com/PowerGrower-Eco-Genral-Hydroponics_p_72.html# )) or maybe u could me some advice or pros and cons to mine compared to a typical grow pot. it is made from a five gallon bucket with lid. there is about an 10'' whole cut out of the lid. i have a homeade net cup filled with to with grow rock its partially submerdged. then i have three pumps from fish tanks http://shop.simplyhydro.com/PowerGrower-Eco-Genral-Hydroponics_p_72.html#
