For a small grow (2 plants) I am making a drip-irrigation system out of a 5gal bucket and some 1/4" tubing. I have all the necessary components, but skipped out on a pump and timer setup to just left gravity do its work, and have the bucket suspended above the plants. I'll be oxygenating the water with an air pump left over from a hydro grow, but my question is:
How threatening is root rot? I read that its cause by lack of oxygen due to prolonged overwatering, so did I fix the problem, or is it more the wetness and not the level of oxygen?
Is there a way to have it drip 24/7 without inducing root rot?
If I need the pump/timer setup, any suggestions (for an already spent budget, mind you)
Thanks everyone!
