Yeah your right... Affected. It's definitely affected... And this is the effect...
You're making progress, stick with it :)

Ever since that guy put his pc in cooking oil all those years ago i have always wanted to have a go almost 10 years ago now
not because its a good idea but it just seems fun lol

hope it all works out well for you

I'm thinking passive now. All that oil does seem messy

Cheers! Iv been building a 1000w blue/red led light with a hilarious ballast of like 8X60 watt incandescent lights in parallell, barely glowing, and a voltage shunt from some big AC capacitors. The entire lights running at 60hz too, I let the LEDs do the AC rectification.

Thanks for the input guys. It's helping shape the thinking for sure.

So at the moment I am still thinking..

2 x 80mm long heat sinks (100mm with the ends chopped off so that it fits in the tent)

6 x cxa3590's or vero bxrc-30g10k0-l-03

I'm in UK. What woukd be a good driver for these? Can I drive all 6 with one driver?

The cooling fan is still yet to be decided. I still like the extractor fan pulling over the heat sink idea. Would need to make sure that the "tunnel" is the same size in order to not get negative pressure on the fan. I have an awesome extractor that is heat controlled so I think it's a good way to go. There wont be co2 added to the tent.
I use Vero 29 Cobs and use 5" vinyl fence post to mount the CPU fans. I have pics on the site. Then I have a 4" carbon filter and inline exhaust fan with speed controller. I also use CPU fans. I will be building and testing a hood cooled passive setup this winter in the shop. I think if you keep the shroud close to the fins the exhaust fan will pull air by the fins. A lot of high power amps I service use this setup in a way. Time to experiment. I do know the CPU fan heatsink combos work well mounted inside the fence rail. The exhaust fan then pulls the air out. Works extremely well. I can run 800w in a very small area.

The lights on pic is taken through my shirt. The blues are more powerful than the red. But, the blues add up to 120v 3a and the reds add up to 120v 3a as well. The capacitors and bulbs dropped my current down to the 3a to run the LEDs. So they are actually flashing red to blue @ 60hz or 60 times a second. They seem to "charge" and don't flash like a strobe light after a few seconds and ignore the freq.

The wood box is getting a polyurethane coat and one side is sheet metal. The other is acrylic. The LEDs will get organized on the metal sheet and will get very hot very fast. The box will be filled with mineral oil and a computer fan or three will go inside the oil to stir it up and disipate heat while running.

I'll attach the incandescent lights and capacitors I'll try and attatch on the top. I'm waiting on lenses for the LEDs to get more surface area but China's the only source for this stuff so it takes forever for parts.

If you're going to be a smart arse you should try to be grammatically correct too imo

For future reference , you should of used the word "affected" not effected*
Effected means "executed, brought about, produced something."
Affected means "impacted, created an affect on, changed in a certain way."

Your sentence actually reads "mineral oil created skunkd0c's brain or caused his brain to come into existence"
I do not believe this is what your wanted to convey

Nice video btw .. educational
should've. as in should have. just sayin.

I think once I saw a guy put a mobo into a foil cooking pan and filled it with vegetable oil, then he literally fried his computer while running doom 3 until it overheated, after he got the temp down, I'm pretty sure it still worked
