After a night of thinking about it... I totally feel the 'plant looking done' bit. I think I'm starting to get this harvest thing. (can you tell I tend to get excited sometimes)
Anyhow, recognizing that the trichs say ok... I'm going to keep my eyes on the buds themselves (and use the trichs to confirm my suspicions). Hard to tell when things will be ready, becuase I'm new and don't know how fast/ slow things change, but my guess is the first buds to come down will be in 3-4 days, but that's a guess.
The white widow is quite obviously no where near done, as the hairs haven't even started changing.... it's funny growing different strains.
Some of the hindu skunks, you can really see where the new growth has occured, becuase the top of the bud looks done, but then there are all these puffs of new growth from last week, that still have white hairs as well.
Part of me want to cut it all down now... get it over with. But no... we will do this right, no matter how much patience.
However.... I"m going to start smoking as soon as this stuff dries. I'll keep some around to see what 3 month cure is like, but I'm not holding out till then.

I have been reading your journal from afar and I have to commend you. You have done it like I wish I could, all the pics, great info, stories that you've shared, its just awesome! With as much information and disinformation we find on RIU, I usually hold my comments to myself. I do have a suggestion for taking pics under the HPS. With my digital camera, I can adjust the specs the pic is taken at. I change the amount of blue light the picture is taken with. If you increase the amount of blue light sensitivity, the pics look like they were taken under normal lighting conditions.

You are not seeing stuff. I don't know what that is in the very middle... to me it looks like the tip of a leaf coming out, and turning light yellow... I have that on 2 buds.

What's that about... I mean male flowers? I guess I'll look it up. It is all kinds of weird looking... I'll try and get a couple more pics of those 2 buds in particular... and if I have to pick them off, that totally wouldn't be the end of the world

Thanks for the advice guys... I was checking now that the girls are awake, and I see that strange thing on like 5 or 6 buds... all kinda random. I think they are all the same plant, but not the same branch or location. Weird.
I have some purple developing on some of the leaves now... they are purple and yellow, kinda wild looking.
And looking around the room at buds that I think are done.... there are 0. I can see maybe 3 or 4 that look pretty close, and there are some that look nowhere close.
Then there is the white widow... I'd say only about 10% of her hairs have even turned amber. I haven't bothered looking at her trichs.
I'll snap more picures later... I'm not to stressed about the little growth things, or anything being done. I'm guessing I'll cut a bud in 2, 3, or 4 days... and I'll probably be cutting like 5 branches a day until like 3 weeks from now. We'll see how long this WW goes... I swear she keeps getting bigger too. Wild. I'm glad it has all worked with having the two different strains... I mean I didn't totally mess us the one for the other...... (i hope)

I think you should wait. I'm not one for determining chop-chop time soley based on tric color, but from pic 3, it looks like the trics are still pretty whitey-cloudy and are standing tall. You know better than anyone else when those red-haired babies are finally prime.
I had a couple of those yellow growths too and it turned out to be a small calyx and spouted a red hair.

Nice work Jig! That is some tasty looking kush You should feel great pride in your cultivation of such an amazing specimen!
It looks ready to me Jig. So wait 5 days and chop it! Watch it's growth patterns. Put a little piece of string around the stem, somewhere safe, so you know which one it is. Watch for the calaxes (spelling?) to swell and then stop. If nothing much changes, I would say chances are good its primo to harvest.
Pure water flushing goin on?

Right now there is water, gravity, molasses, and it's ph'd to around 5.9.
It will be a week on tuesday that mix has been in. I top off every couple days so it is watered down. Tomorrow I am going to drain the rez and fill with only water. So pure RO till we finish.
I am proud of this grow, but I feel like I am most proud of myself for not taking a knife to it all now. Hardest part by far.
