They're by no means gigantic, I found out my first go round that bigger in the AF isn't necessarily better.

I'm just nervous is all, I'll probably try a few that way next time just to see how they do and make my own personal assessment based on how they perform.

Yeah, thanks for the reply. I think as another poster mentioned, they're possibly a seasonal item. It's been a while since I've checked so I just need to get out there.

Thanks

the one thing about pvc pipes vs fence posts, the fence post end caps have to be siliconed, as opposed to just popping of the 4in pvc caps, i used to love popping the cap and seeing a tube fulla roots, but nothing holds the netcups better than square, plus you dont have to rig down the posts, but the round gully is perfect for true NFT, which is just a good byproduct of the DIY aero systems, as opposed to the AF2's its aero/dwc

Sorry guys my girl is sick and I've had to attend to her. However I did manage to make some decisions and start buying stuff. I decided to abandon the internal spray line idea and am going to use the 360 sprayers. I purchased a 950 gph mag drive pump.

I have 4 in pvc a 40 gal res other misc. I'll keep u posted with pics if you want but this isn't gonna be a quick setup. It will take me a while. Thanks for all your help.

So I started building today...

I started off by cutting two 4ft sections of 2 by 4 and clamping them together side by side. Then I drilled pilot holes. I then drilled out four 4 1/2in holes and three 15/16in holes.

Then I cut eight 2ft sections of 2 by 4 and made these little sawhorse legs.

Then I cut my two 10ft 4in pvc pipes in half to make four 5ft sections and put them on the stands.

As you can see the other notches are going to be for the feeder pipes.

So your all up to date. :-|

So I'm hung up on one aspect. I'm going to have 3/4 in pvc coming off the pump and branching off to 3 feeder pipes that lay in between the 4 inchers. Because I'll have 20 plant sites and two sprayers per site, I'll have an uneven number of lines per feeder pipe. My design has 6 tee's on the end pipes and and 8 tee's on the middle one. Will that cause the middle lines to have less pressure in them? Will it matter?

So I worked on the feeder pipes today. I decided to have 2 feeder pipes instead of three.

Here are the pieces all 3/4" - eight 10 7/8" pvc, ten 1 7/8" pvc, 20 tee's pvc, 20 bushings pvc, 3/4" slip by 1/2" FPT

I assembled like this five per line.

I got these tee's for a steal, bags of 10 for $8.95 each. I'm still waiting for brass bushings 1/8" FPT by 1/2" MPT and my 1/4" tubing, grommets, and spray jets.

I would use the maximum head figure to compare pumps instead of the GPH.
The GPH is always rated at open flow and two pumps with the same GPH may not have the same head capacity.
The lower the max head the less pressure the pump has to push water through the system.
The little giant 5-MSP does 1200gph at 0.44psi (1ft head) and 0gph at 11.7psi (26.3ft max head)

Lothario, your diy skills are great.
Try to keep 1/4" pipe length to a minimum as it will rob your pumping pressure rapidly. I prefer pushfit connectors, they handle a huge amount of pressure without leaking and you can rearrange everything very easily if you need to.

Here's what it's looking like these days.
