DIY 30 plant Flood And Drain system

So I have been on these forums for a while now just reading but decided to start my own project. I currently am in no situation to be growing weed, however i love smoking and also growing all kinds of edible plants in general. I decided to build a hydro system. I wanted to copy the more expensive ones and build a low pressure aero system but after reading some stuff about them decided not to. In reality they are just more complex NFT systems because the mist produced by a low pressure pump does not break up the water/nutrient solution enough. So i decided to go with a flood and drain system. Using 4" vinyl fence post, endcaps, 3/4" pvc pipe, and 12 uniseal bulkheads i came up with this. really good job, looks ten fold nicer than most of the diy stuff i see. are the end caps water tight?

yess the endcaps are water tight. I think io am just going to use rapid cycles not really sure yet, or i might sell this to someone and build another.

I think the a good way would be to just throw some hydro pellets in there and do a multi-site ebb and grow. Anyways very clean + rep

thanks man, i really love this site, by the way if anyone wants plans i could give them to you or just right it up here, you could always use this design and scale it up or down. But i appreciate the positive feedback. My next system that i am gonna start building is going to be a low pressure aero system. Probably be done in about a month from now.

Nice system, can you please pictures of the supply end of the setup? I am interested in how you get the water to flow equally from the center posts to the outer posts with the same flow rate. I would think that the center posts would get a lot of water and as you get farther out the flow would decrease.

hey sorry for bringing up a thread from the past, but it works by filling the tubes with water, one of the manifolds pump water in, and the other one lets water drain, then you can just put the pump on a timer
