DIY 20 gallon wood pots, Regulations for Medical Outdoor Grow in WA.

Hey everybody. I will be starting my first outdoor grow this year and wanted to see if anyone had plans on building 20 gallon wood circular or octagon pots? I have been looking online and everything I’ve found looks expensive and unnecessary. The reason I wanted to do this is to save money on buying 20 gallon fabric pots. Secondly, I have my medical card but I cannot find any information on the regulations for outdoor growing in Washington State, so any links or ideas where I may find info would be great.. Thanks for reading and any wisdom you can throw my way would be appreciated.

Youd do better just building raised beds, square or rectangular ones, with 2x4s from your local home depot or lowes.

Ya, that would be a lot easier. Is it better to go taller or wider? Thanks for replying. And pressure treated wood is the way to go right?

or whiskey barrels sliced in 2 if in the UK

I made some diy smart pots...a bit bigger than 20 gallons...but it would work...
I use 18 gallon totes for my smaller plants...

If your putting clones down you don't need to go as deep if you are planting seedlings.
Raised bed I'd use at least two 2x8 or 2x10"s in a 3x3 square.
That'd be 24 feet of lumber nails and stakes to hold them in place. IMO there are cheaper ways to go.

- Looks like a great idea, but i wanted the root systems to be airated as they would with fabric bags or porus wood material. I imagine you put holes in the buttom for drainage, but what of the sides?
