Disturbing the light cycle 1-2 times?

Hello :clap::clap:

I have purchased a small grow tent. The problem is that I just discovered that we are going to have some guys over to change our windows within 2-8 weeks. Exact date is unknown, as we are still negotiating prices. That is a long time for a guy who wants to have the lettuce growing strongly before summertime! :sad:

I have 2 options:

1. Start growing 18/6, and just veg untill the windows have been changed. Keep them down by cutting the tops, making them very busy and hopefully heavy yielding due to long veg, compared to the 2-3 weeks I had initially planned. When the windows have been changed, set to flower. Plants dont really smell before flowering, right? At least my lowryder-in-the-window didnt.

2. Start growing as planned in the garage, but have space problems (and potentially problems with my Father being sceptical, as he will have the opportunity to look inside whenever he wants. If I do it in my own room, he will only get to look 2-3 times in the start, and then loose interest. He would know that I grow hemp, but he would'nt get to see how nicely the plants were coming. (Theres some stupid news in the TV here... "new skunk laboratories produce killer-drug!"). I imagine my tent to look quite a lot like those "laboratories" only smaller lol :-P:-P :leaf::leaf::leaf:

So what would you advice? I really like having the plants in my room, so I have easy access to cuddle them :clap::clap:.

The suction cant run while the workers are here due to noise - and hence the light neither can. I plan on getting some sleep, so the light cycle is going to be during the day, being shut down in the hours I normally go to sleep (wont be awoken by the noise, but will be kept awake if it runs when I try to get to sleep.).

So, would it be a problem to shut down the light 1-2 days during vegging? I dont want my feminized seeds to go HERMA... :fire:

Thank you very much in advance :weed:

Oh and if anyone has ever gotten their windows changed.... do you know how long it takes to change 2 windows, and if they do it from the outside of the house or not? :)

My advice is to wait until the coast is clear, unless you want issues of course. If you are already in your room I would suggest 24h lighting so you don't trigger any preflowering for atleast 6 weeks (in my experience).

24H is not an option, both because I need sleep and because its pretty expensive. But 18 hours would'nt trigger flowering, would it?

Can't see how the workers would discover? a tent looks kinda like a normal closet :-P and I plan to put some sheets over it or something like that..

It wouldn't trigger flowering, no, but it will sex and grow much faster (IMO). Do you have light leaking? that would be an issue and running a couple 54w t5 flouros 24/7 is like turning the oven on to 425 for 15 minutes. And a black tent on a open wall with light blasting out of it would raise a few questions, if it were in the closet, why not just use the closet?
I'm just tryin to help you not get caught but if you are still with the rents, use good judgement.

Well the tent should be 100 % light proof. But I want to turn off the light when they are there, since I am going to use 400W MH lighting for veg, which means LOTS of heat. This would need air suction, which is noticeably noisy. So while the workers are there, I will turn off the light and put some sheets over the tent (or some planks or something so it just looks like a messy room :-P).

But really, hiding it/making it look normal isnt an issue. Just wondering if the disturbed light cycle for the 1-2 days it takes to change windows could be a problem for the plants (?). Under no circumstance do I want hermas :sad:.

They wont question anything, as asking about people's privacy (such as "what's in the closet?") as a worker is very rude here. :clap::clap: :weed:

well I guess 1-2 days of complete darkness would mess it up but if you give it atleast 8-10 you should be ok..

what light u use? I would go get a cheap grow light from home depot from put them in your closet to slowly veg while work is being done on windows.

i have a 600 w with water cooled in my bedroom, i have to worry about hiding all the equipment plus eight plants. well not really, i am fortunate to live in a liberal state where medical marijauna cards are readily availaible.

Well I expect it to be like this:

I am in school 8-15 o'clock.. lights off during this period, as the workers are there during that time.

Then I will turn on the light when I come home. The workers are gone by then. If they are done, I will proceed with 12/12 flowering. If they are not done, I will just do the same the next day.

But the plan simplified:
18/6 till workers have changed the windows
12/12 after :)

Will close the tent and hide cables etc, put junk in front of the tent, so my room just appears to be messy when they're here.

So I guess this is an OK plan? Hope it wont stress the plants too much that the light cycles go wierd for max 2 days.

dont disturb the light cycle DONT DISTURB THE LITE CYCLE NO NO NO NO

TOO MUCH STRESS TOO MUCH STRESS ON PLANTS>

Stress can have immediate as well as long term affacts on plants.

Avoid as much stress as possible. ALSO DO NOT ALLOW ANY EXTERIOR LITE TO HIT YOUR PLANTS DURING SLEEP CYCLE> my girlfriend was coming in the bedroom where i grow and was turning on light to for laundry or some crap, it totally screwed up the palnts

:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:.. unlucky

But from my experience with lowryders, it doesent really matter if you stress them a little? Dont really think 1-2 days of slightly irregular lighting would matter... :shock:
