Dispensary prices dropping...

Shoot in my state there is expensive and ultra cheap bud/extracts/misc but it’s funny they will openly sell ”shake “ per oz as the cheapest bud lol . tbh their process and preserving it when in these clubs isn’t to perfected and it’s no wonder so much is blah/cardboard weed. People tbh will be more interested in a new hype name even if it means nothing and a fancy Mylar bag than the real effects and what ur getting. shoot I don’t give to shits if it’s ugly if it’s amazing terps and flavor and effects who the fuck cares. Oh wait too many and it’s same goes to food and everything retail. Thinking with eyes and fancy marketing vs logic and reality

A lot of people today can't handle the highs of old times, 95% of people when asked prefer a "daytime" not over stressing or powering effects... They don't want their day fucked up
But this is not a beer in a bar drug.. this thing supposed to fuck you up...
This market has become what Dave chappelle described as crack heads doing pipes and drinking coffee at Starbucks, talking politics haha, a lot of boring cardboard shoe box dope, that gets you nothing it was hyped to be.
But kids like you said, enjoy the fame of the hype more then the actual product, more "I have this and you don't" instead of them being honest about what we actually look for in it.
Like everything good in this world, the real dope is still out there, with people who didn't fell for every little marketing lies or genetics swings,
These are maybe 5% of people worldwide, good luck finding their dope ;)

We just came from a dispensary that advertised 2 for $99 (Z's of bud) in OK. Sold out of that. Big surprise . Lots of low priced stuff out there, some is very good. Traveling from ME through MA prices have dropped a lot in these last few years. Very good knockout stuff is out there just a lot of choices to pick from. It's nice to not sneak around corners because I'm a vicious smoker of the weed. I could have bought a lifetime supply for what my last pot charge cost me in court. It's a good thing they stopped me before the stuff became a danger everywhere. Lmao

michigan dispos you can find anything in your price range. 50-200. The cheaper stuff I wouldn't touch but people love it. The more expensive stuff can be even hit or miss

A club in Northern Ca where i’m at still sells 1/8’s of some flower for $60
“Traditional market” lb’s of super fire currently goes for $1000. 1100 max
What do you believe the reason for higher prices is? Branding? Most of the nug pics look good and A lot of it looks the same

Yeah i don’t know. That club is in an area where allot of bud is grown too. Definitely cheaper down in Sacramento and out towards the bay area. Had to look at dispensary prices online because i haven’t been into one since we were allowed to vend our stuff there which has been a while now.

Right after I got out of the biz, I calculated what it cost us per pound to produce. By the time you figure in electric, nutes, taxes, fees, water, harvest and trim labor... you pretty much break even these days... or lose money if you count your time that you spend growing that cycle. Around $500 a pound is what you're going to get around here wholesale. Those days (2020-2021) of getting $2800-$3000 a lb are long gone, and won't be back. Covid was def good for business.... nobody could go anywhere, so they just sat home and got baked all day I guess.

Im wondering if the growers are selling the whole plants wet...would save a lot and the dispensaries can dry, tumble the bud for kief, make house extracts....etc
That seems more logical to me

It would just be more cost to them, and more paperwork. They would have to have a separate Processors License to do that. I know it sounds stupid, but when we were finally allowed to do Pre-rolls, we would have had to get a Processors License to do so. We passed on it because it just didn't make any financial sense.

I don't think anybody understands the amount of hoops you have to jump through to stay in this biz. METRIC is a total pain in the ass from tagging every plant with RFID chip tags from seedling to harvest, and the monthly reporting you have to do. You'd have to hire 1 full time person just to keep up with METRC, and thier ever changing regulations. Uncorrected violations can reach $10,000 per day. It's just too stressful for basically breaking even in the end.
