Dispensaries Jan 1

about time. I've heard that CG's can also sell they're excess medicine to these facilities which would be great considering the off-balance limits for max plant/usable medicine limits. I wonder though, if the CG is still limited to 2.5 ounces per transaction to the facility like it is to the patient.

Theyre allowed to grow 99 plants! I doubt they will need the caregivers excess. Hopefully they will but they prob wont need it and will also, prob have to take down your info to recieve them.

99 plants and 1500 oz onhand do not equate. Demand for 3rd party meds will come down to how much medicine they can move. They want to avoid an Apple-like scenario where demand outstrips their supply.

yea, thats why I came to that conclusion. caregivers can grow more than they can hold on to, and its reversed for dispensaries.

anyone know if there's a certain amount of years you need to be a resident in RI? looking to make a long term move and would really like to help others as a CG

i think all you need is a copy of your lease to show the DOH. The doh only accepts physician's certifications now, not nurses, etc. they are currently being sued for this. Good luck.

I wouldn't sell any meds to the centers..All your info and how much you were donated for the meds will ALL be documented and available for the man to audit at any point..AND think what low low cost they will want you to donate the meds to them for, what 200 per oz if your lucky and a 10-99 tax at the end of the year???im all set.Dont get all excited folks.Get a quality care giver and they can supply you with all that a center will.Shit i do candies, baked goods, hashes, multiple strains, creams, oils etc..Ied rather give my caregiver my donations rather then a fraud of a NONE PROFIT center...IF u look at all the applications and centers they are all politically connected some how...Take the Slater center..The woman who owns the property that will be leased by the Slater center is owned by the sister of a man on the board who approved the centers app.

Yeah, were I growing, I'd turn excess into dry-sift and qwiso hash and edibles rather than sell to a dispensary. In spite of the corruptness of the dispensary approval process, I think they'll serve a very useful purpose for a lot of people who lack the internet skills/confidence to hook up with a caregiver online. My wife, for instance, would be completely uncomfortable meeting a stranger for a "med deal," but would happily walk into a dispensary.

Jeez, i gotta try this edible thing... seems pretty cool and makes sence if you have overages. Do you guys take donations for edibles?

I agree the dispensaries wont be as big as a hit as they want cause the documentation needed. They fail IMO after acouple riads and after the state begins to twist the laws for them. I wonder what dispensaries will do with any overages they may get. Deffinetly not gift them to patients when they want them to donate towards there NON PROFIT buisness.

I am fairly new to the community and only know a small number of patients and caregivers. The problem I see most often with the patient caregiver relationship is that the CG is unable to meet the patients needs. This could be due to a number of reasons. A few being that the CG has taken on too many patients or suffered crop loss or well use your imagination. There just never seems to be enough meds around and certain patients are very desperate for help. In my case I see the compassion centers as a progression toward acceptance more than a source for my medication needs. So far I have been lucky enough to provide for myself and help a few people out along the way. Whatever the political connection or monetary ambitions of the compassion centers be. I just hope they shine a good light on the program and not be shadowed in negative attention. T

Make the laws more reasonable and actually make since.

I would say alot of the issue with caregivers not supplying enough is CG max is 5oz they can hold. A patient can buy what 2.5oz a week if wanted? Now you have 5 patients and a max of 5oz you can have. Takes couple months to get harvest IF that person has a perpetual setup. Nothing adds up. Doubt if your CG is doing everything by the book they will sit on everything they harvest which is MORE than 5oz im sure. Just to make a stranger happy an break the law.

ya, but what can a CG do. the law doesn't explain what usable medicine is. is it dryed for a week or cured for a month, hanging in a closet dry or in a container? that is so much of a loophole that authorities can and will take advantage of it.the CG is forced to unload it as fast as possible 2.5 oz at a time.

possibly if the CG had a multistaged perpetual grow where he had a harvest every month of 4 plants (12 total flowering at anyone time) it might bring him closer to staying within the usable medicine limits, but still he would be over double the limits at some time.
