Dishonesty at Humboldt Seed Organisation?

I recently received my order from Attitude. Here is the photo of the Blue Dream packaging from HSO.
P1010462.jpgP1010465.jpg (You can't make it out, but you can see the wording at the very bottom)

It's very beautifully done, but I was bothered by a small detail. I did not mind that the package was difficult to open, perhaps there is good reason for this. However, I noticed at the very bottom on the back in small print (small enough I couldn't get a clear photo of it) is written "WITH LOVE FROM CALIFORNIA".

Until very recently, I was fooled into believing that HSO was somehow related to a co-op in Humboldt County, CA; hopefully I am not the only one. I didn't notice the British spelling of "organisation" until after the order was placed. Other things on some HSO webpages also deliberately mislead readers to assume they are from the emerald triangle.

On other threads on RIU, I've read where people say that Dinafem Seeds and HSO use the same packaging and were suspected of being sibling companies such as Hardee's and Carl's Jr. or at the very least a brand of Dinafem as Maxwell House is to Kraft. I don't know that this is even evidence of anything... but the shirt I ordered with my HSO seeds turned out to be a Dinafem shirt.

I do not really care for a company that feels they need to be dishonest about their products and I doubt I will order from them again for this very reason. I have no idea what goes on at their headquarters, but if this much dishonesty had made it to me... I would not be surprised if there is much more taking place there.

Comments, corrections, criticism appreciated.

The HSO video states they work closely with a collective of growers and breeders from the Humboldt area in California. I figured a UK investor started up the seed company with the Humboldt collectives to make them both some extra funds. I think if this were false we would have heard alot more from Humbodlt growers and breeders by now. I have heard nothing but excellent reviews.

I'm a small med grower only poping about three plants per flowering (med limits, etc.) and got a couple of freebees, Blue Dream and Trainwreck. I grow under 600 watts in soil and those fucking plants are some of my best grows from just two free beans. I'll try to get pix but that's another story ugh!

I'll be chopping soon so I'll try to get pix before that. Maybe they're not that great to you or other growers but I'm pretty pleased with the quality and yield. I looks to be about 4-6 oz a plant but that's hard to tell.

Without judging them or their products one has to wonder why anybody would feel the need to go with a company in the UK named after a legendary marijuana growing region in the US?

If they have an adress on them try and match it to others.

IE> Budshop seeds as 1 baked bean street Weedshop seeds as 1a baked bean street

I've never grown anything from them, so I can make no judgement on the quality of their seeds. I had heard good things about the company, so I decided to go with them. I also was not aware that they were in the UK. I just thought I'd share my new discovery with others. If you've had good experiences with them in the past, then continue to buy from them.

Isn't it all hype? I think all seedbanks do their share of boasting and merchandising. Just part of the game. To seperate the bullshit from the real deal, I guess we will have to rely on grow reports to see if the gear is worthwhile. I have some HSO Blue dream on the way from Attitude and will compare to a clone-only cut I've been nurturing. Time will tell.

I'm guessing it's because they can sell alot more seeds through U.K. than any other country.

The claim that they're "teaming up" with Cali growers could be a flat out lie. People speak it as if it's 100% true and they know. "But they say it right there on their site and the video." Lmao. I'm willing to bet just about anything it's B.S.. I know someone with their Blue Dream and OG, I can tell you the blue dreams are indica dominant and don't smell like a legendary clone only strain, and the ogs don't really smell like og. More like a new rubbermaid trash can. Not fuely or skunky lemon vicks vapor rub like a real og.

the company is registered in UK and alot of seedbanks are due to our laws on souveniers,
UK have been lobbied for years to shut of seeds but it cant. 1 Plant Varieties and Seeds Act 1964, 2 their souveniers

If you look for someone totally honest to deal with. You will probably end up without any seeds.

As long as you get what you ordered from them, and you like the product. That's the best your probably going to do.

I like Dinafem, some of the best pot I've smoked from another breeder...

Just saying the bud looks good on both Blue Dream and Trainwreck. I can't get a good shot yet but will just before harvest in a week or so.

Here's that HSO Trainwreck. Not bad IMO but we'll see when it catches fire. Hard to tell until the smoke clears. I didn't do any LST or FIM on the first grow since I like to see how they grow first before I cut and chop on clones. The blue bud pix is just a blue light shined on it for fun! Looks pretty though.

It's too late to edit my post but a preliminary smoke report >>>>>>>>>>>> Fucking wow! Had some Thai type flavoring, reminded me of the 80's weed we used to get. Kinda sweet and sugary. Doesn't taste like Trainwreck but I've never had it so wtf am I saying? lol Two bong hits worked good, that's a sign of a keeper and I feel lucky since I got 2 nice clones going of each TW and Blue Dream.:-P
Crappy pix but you get the idea. Actually those are the Blue Dreams.

Chinese soy sauce brand, La Choy, is made in the US, California. Yet we accept it as a foreign product.

I just harvested both HSO Twreck and Blue dream a while back. Both great yield and potency, but Lacking in aroma slightly. TW is pretty frosty. Growing out their lemon Thai right now and I hope it is of the same caliber.
