discuss the value of co2

Ok, I have been running co2 for my grow and the plants grow good but not like what I expected. I heard people doubling or tripling yeilds with co2. I keep my grow room at about 1000units and a 20lb tank last me almost 2 weeks for a 5x6x8 grow area. I want to know what everyones thoughts and ideas they have about co2. Yah or nah, happy growing

1st of all is that 1000 parts per mil.? You need to up that to about 3000 ppm if you want to see real growth. Normal air supplies 1500ppm so you are actually supplying less than the air around them. also what type of c02 are you using i.e natural or bottled.

uh ur co2 ppm for your normal air is 300 ppm to 400 ppm depending on the size of city u live in and u dont need to take ur co2 over 2000 ppm plants can only use so much of it b4 it turns toxic and with 2000 ppm of co2 u urself has a possibilty of passing out in ur growroom so keep that in mind

Don't listen to this guy!!!


1200-1500PPM is ideal and is commonly accepted as the standard among growers. Anything over 1500PPM is WASTED in my opinion. 5000PPM will have a very adverse affect on humans. I have heard of running 2-3000PPM but you have to increase nutes, lights, airflow, O2, etc. ANY gain with the increase of CO2 + everything else would be negligible.

Normal CO2 levels in any given room average 300PPM's.
