Disaster strikes

While trying to botch together a better lighting system (very limited space) i dropped the light and it took out almost all the leaves down on side of my plant. My question, will this have any negative effects on the plant?
As it is, it is a very lanky plant with sparse leaf cover.
It is my first attempt at growing and i'm very attached to it so i would like to save it if possible.
I will try to get a picture up by tomorrow, but what is the general opinion on my situation?

yes it will effect it. those leaves won't grow now. j/k
it will live if it still has several leaves on it. grow will be slow in the areas where the leaves are missing. side branching will be uneven. just plan on vegging an extra week or so and it should be fine.
