Dipping Clones as You Take Cuttings

Hello!

Last grow I had a spider mite and thrips issue, so ive been letting my flowering room rest for a few weeks with periodic cleans, with no plant material inside.

Now my moms still potentially have some creepy crawlies so my question is...

Will submerging the cuttings in water for a few seconds kill any bugs? Would I have to add pesticide? Would a light citric acid solution do the job?

Use an IPM product while quarantining the clones. Heard good things about Athena IPM

Funnily its what i used to get on top in the last weeks of flowering! Just pretty expensive here, so wondering if I can be a bit rougher at the cutting stage, not adversed to using harsh chems, since the clone growth will be no where near the final product
