When you plant the critical jack from dinafem, and it says autoflowering in 70 days, is that the life cycle of the plant or does it start flowering at 70 days? I'm at 51 days, no flowers, great growth, but live just north of Toronto and it s going to start getting cold around the beginning of October!! Will I make it??

they must be nice and big, see if you can get an indoor setup to flower them, but if they start flowering in november, and november is when harvest time is, then your plant is super behind its life cycle

The Critical Jack from Dinafem should be finished and ready for harvest in 70 days - from seed. I have grown it before and was very happy. A buddy of mine is currently growing one and at 3 weeks it's looking better than mine did. I grew in a homemade aero/DWC system under MH/HPS. My buddy is growing in soil, using just blood and bonemeal, under 12-2' T5 lights. I'm starting to think that autos prefer soil to hydro. My next grow, which I'm starting now, may just be 1/2 hydro and 1/2 soil. I'm growing in a 4x4 tent and will use the hydro system's water to feed the soil plants and have it drain back into the hydro system - screened before it is returned to keep any soil out of the hydro rez.

Thanks Tony, makes me feel better. Like I said I;m at 50 days and its growing in good soil, with Dutch Nutrient Formula once a week and its now 39 inches high, real healthy looking. Another 20 days and look out!! When do you think I should change to the flowering nutes?

CJ auto is 70 days from seed to harvest, honestly it can be cropped at like 65days aswell. It should show its first flowers around day 17-20. At day 50 an auto should be sitting with lots of bud on it, perhaps you have unfortunatly recieved an photoperiod seed? Just doesnt sound to me like it is autoflowering like it should.

This is not a very good idea mate, Hydro systems should be kept surgically clean wereas if you are allowing the soil run off, even if screened, to drain into yr hydro nutes you'd be running the risk of introducing pathogens. You could do it, but I wouldn't risk it.

To the OP, i'd take some clones from that bad boy and out them inside under lights so you at least save somethin from it. That's pretty shit that it's not an auto... im sure you've been sitting there in hope awaiting something to happen.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't consider that. I'm still a new grower, 3 grows under my belt so far - 2 autos & 1 regular. My last 2 grows were autos. 1 was a Kannabia MikroMachine..I got 400g wet out of 1 plant grown indoors/hydro. My last grow was 2 snow ryders, 2 critical jack and 2 russian rocket fuel. I didn't pay as much attention to them as I should have and as a result my yeild was only about 1/3 of what it should have been. This grow was also in a homemade aero/dwc system. For my next grow I'm thinking of changing my system to a top feed/drip using dripcaps. Any thoughts on them?

He said it should be done at day 70, if your at day 51 and its not flowering you have a problem. It should begin to flower close to 20 days from planting. Sometimes seeds dont autoflower when they are supposed to, if you want that to flower your going to have to switch lighting to 12/12. I've had issues like that with nirvana short rider in the past and had to switch to 12/12.
