At a glance: the buds are very delicious and juicy-looking. Orange hairs explode across the surface of the sticky, fat, dank nugs, and the copious resin production really shows through. The green leaves shifted to a darker green, tinted with faint purples and browns. Overall, these buds define counter appeal, and any dispensary would do well to stock this medicine.
It smells like: These buds have a distinct, musty aroma of pungent fruits like guava and cantaloupe cut with that iconic blueberry funk. I would say that I got the more blueberry-ruled phenotype for sure. When it's ground, the bud releases a surprisingly sharp, acidic, citrus odour that is startlingly powerful on the nose.
How to smoke this strain: Definitely roll it up. The taste of this herb is incredible, rich in fruity tones and silky smooth on the exhale.
How is the Smoke? In a joint, the blue widow is so very nice to me. Its smoke is sweet, leaving a perfume-like taste on your tongue that falls apart into bittersweet fruit notes if you exhale partially through the nose. Every toke seems to be a bit different, however, and now that I'm halfway through my joint, the smoke is a touch spicier and tastes more musty. Not sure how I feel about that, but oh man am I medicated already. Which brings us to...
The High: Being the product of a high resin producing white widow father and a high cbd blueberry mother, Blue Widow delivers the strengths of both. The medicine is, as I said earlier, dusted over in trichomes. The body pain-releiving effects from the high cbd can be felt almost immediately, and in hindsight, I think an entire joint of this medicine may be pushing it for the average smoker. It feels like I'm back on the dentist's vicodin, pinned to my seat and numb of all pain. I feel completely sedated, and all I can think of doing is succumbing to my sleepiness. It was a long day today, and I'm up late doing this review, but now I'm considering actually going to bed. This medicine would be suited perfectly to patients suffering from insomnia, and patients undergoing chemotherapy, particularly. I have never felt this sort of bodily equilibrium from any other medicine, and I would recommend it highly for deep meditation or for creative processes; I feel like my thoughts are flowing slower, but clearer and more refined. Time seems to flow more slowly as well and I feel satisfied with my recent productivity as opposed to my usual self-criticism. I suggest this medicine for anyone suffering from stress or depression. It really is a calming, peaceful, self-revealing high that is very positive.
Additional Info: If you begin to feel a tightness in your chest or abdomen, don't worry, just take a few deep breaths and it's gone; this discomfort is caused by what I believe to be "auto-responsive muscle-tightening," which I hypothesize is a product of cbd(cannabidiol)'s effect on the way our brains fire neurons in the sections controlling voluntary muscle function. This could potentially prove to be effective in treating soreness, as light, controlled muscle activity has been proven to reduce lactic acid build up in sore muscle tissue. Basically, what I'm saying is that I think cbd makes our muscles tighten just a bit involuntarily, which can cut soreness later.
