I go through the pre wired pots from rapidled every 4 to 6 months. Has anyone found one that lasts? I have a actual dimmer that are used in home outlets that has lasted for couple yrs on a veg light, im going to have to get 5 of them if i dont find some alternative. I remember someone had same problem on here few yrs ago.

I add my own wires. But cheap imported mechanical speed pots have never failed here. And at $3 with a few terminal forks to push on if defective. I'm sold.

i only adjust it twice during whole cycle. i have been using one to dim two drivers.. maybe i will go back to one per driver but i have tried that before and they didnt last very long either.

I've dimmed 6 drivers at once and 1500W actual lights. Something wrong on your end.

I'm out. Peace.

yep i burned through a load of the rapid led pots maybe we got a bad batch?, did yours do the lightening flash effect when they were going bad?. mine would randomly go full power from wherever they were set for a second or so then back to normal.

i went back to the standard linear pots.

Thats exactly what mine start doing. Once they do that even if i open it up to full it will jump around periodically. I take the pots off and all drivers work fine.
I'm back. LOL. Have you checked your connections? And wago, wire nut or solder& shrink tube splice?

Another consideration is bi-metallic contacts, due to plating, heating and deforming. Are the dimmers on the lights?

A 100K potentiometer is fine for Meanwell drivers.

What are the dimmers you have that are used in home outlets?

I considered bad connections, especially because of the humidity in the room but the wires do not look corroded. I have dimmers connected with wagos just like the connections on the light itself. The drivers are all mounted on the wall not on the fixture.
1212ham the other dimmer is a wall plate sliding dimmer just like what you would see controlling a light in your home. Its on a led shop light from lowes. I may just go to 100k pots for all the meanwells. or 50k per two drivers.

I've noticed something similar on my lights recently. They aren't rapid LED pots, but now I'm thinking the dimmer may be the cause. I run my lights at full power all the time so I'm thinking I'll just remove the dimmer altogether
