They are 315 cmh fixtures from vivosun

Fixtures cost 199.00 cad without bulbs

Each light is supposed to be good for 3x3 foot print according to the 315 LEC thread on here.

I bought 2. 3100k and 4000k spectrums

Apparently both are supposed to be good for entire grow.

OK, so basically it is the same price-range as my lights for the same advertised results, with the ability to change spectrum bulbs. I was thinking about getting a low-watt (like 65) HLG to take the place of CFL's for seedlings and clones, but I can't justify the expense.

I now have an empty 20"x36" tent. a 4" fan set-up with filter, a 300w blurple, a 600/1200w blurple (both about half or less the advertised wattage) all sitting in a corner...

600 watts of hlg boards were gonna cost me over $1100 canadian and that was the kit, me putting it together.

I wanted them or timbers so bad, but same thing, the price kept me away.

I just had an epiphany. You either need to buy a fan, or a 6x4x4 Y and some 4" gear. You can still suck it through your 6" filter, but change the hoses. I worked heating and air a few hundred years ago, but reducing the size from each tent will actually speed up the airflow in this instance.

You could get the Y and a pack of 4" dyer hose cheap just to check it out, then go from there.

And foil tape. Foil tape is a must for growers along with grafting wax. Light leak? foil tape. Air leak? foil tape. Just have a credit card or plastic putty knife to scrape over it once applied, and watch your finger because it can give hellacious paper cuts.

can i reduce down to 4" line like you mentioned

i have enough flex hose here to try that, and i think i may even have a Y

LOL i have used so much foil tape , Its like the duct tape of the weed growing world lol


I cant believe how bright just this one 315 is, like gotta put the glasses on or it kinda hurts bright.

Maybe its just the different spectrum of lighting, making it different to look at compared to the hps which im used to by now

I think 2 of these things will flower the next crop beautifully

Yeah because of the UV in the LEC/CMH lights you should wear eye protection and even skin protection if exposed for a long period of time.

The temps still sitting at 76f an 55rh....no exhaust and 1 fan running.

the t5s were putting out more heat to be honest.

I was sure impressed with how cool my 1000 watt CMH lights are. Freaking awesome tech. I seriously think a 1000 watt CMH could cover a 6x6 area pretty well. Freaking crazy awesome spectrum.

Ya i was concerned with going with the 630s or 1ks because of heat, just wasnt buying into all the hype from the LEC growers who were saying they stayed pretty cool in comparison to HPS , everyone exaggerates when it comes to their equipment it seems , you know how it is.lol

I knew i was working with 4x4 tents for the time being , so figure the versatility of the 315s will be better long term. Should be able to find a place for them in the new setup somewhere im sure

hard to say for sure with the lighting but I would agree with @Pa-Nature I don't see much amber there yet.

Also I dont se a huge amount of stacking or end roll ..
These here I will give 2 more weeks and glad I have triple their weight .
