Does using different types of bulbs in the same room take away from each other in anyway? I read that light waves cannot cancel each other out so to speak but can they make each other less effective?
If I don’t have a meter how would I set the lights up to avoid that? It's a good thing to mix spectrum of various lighting. Using HPS with CMH for example, or HPS with MH.
The only thing you want to avoid is having to much light intensity where light "cones" overlap.
Another tech that never caught on because of it's cost and limited output is the LEP.
A reliable light meter is handy. Apogee MQ-500 for example, is what I use. Cheap meters measure different light sources differently so you get numbers that are apples and oranges.
Think of it as an investment. Good lights, good room, good cuts + time and effort = money in the bank. That’s my problem moneys tight so I’m using what I can afford. Which is basically some bullshit grow bulbs and some leds.
I have 2 600's and 3 550's in a 6x15 room and constantly think I need more light, hell my timer has room for 3 more lol I guess I need a light meterI have a room with quantum boards (LED), LEC (cmh), and HPS. The cones do overlap and the plants love it.
I chucked my 8 x 20 room full. I have 2-600hps, 6-280 quantums, and 3-315 cmh.I have 2 600's and 3 550's in a 6x15 room and constantly think I need more light, hell my timer has room for 3 more lol I guess I need a light meter
