I don't buy any grow gear online. Call me paranoid but call me free too! 50 years of smoking, middling and messing with pot and 40 years of various grows and not even once charged with a drug offense. Had pot confiscated by cops and told to hide it better but never charged. White privilege works!

I just made my first Amazon.ca purchase last week. Bought a 40-1000X USB scope with Wifi box to connect to the first smart phone I ever bought last summer. Bitch to focus tho. Need to rig something up so I can mount it on my tripod.

I'm not all that legal so don't want to leave any kind of paper trail buying grow shit online or with a credit/debit card. I walk into a grow store with a pocket full of cash or do without. I'm boycotting the closest grow store, 2 hour drive and the next one is 6 hours down the road.

All stocked up on everything I need and stuff like ProMix, bug spray etc I can get locally at the hardware store.

Better prices online for sure tho.

I was the same way. I used to go to the hydro store for 15 years and always paid with cash. Prices for bulbs were steep. Occasionally I was pretty sure I could tell a customer who was a real grower. Quiet, to the point, polite and paid with cash. Then a few years ago I went on record and got my medical card and figured fuck it no more reason to hide. I have a 130 lb shepard to keep the neighborhood kids thinking twice lol. So I gave up hiding and only hope if the cops show up they knock on the door or give me a call. I bought my gorilla tent, bulbs, phresh filter and more dropped at the door through walmart.

If someone is running AC then 8% extra heat wouldn't even be noticed.

But I do agree with Nano, I can touch my heatsink and its only just noticeably warm the drivers are were the main heat source is.

Your heat sinks are far, far more efficient and effective at heat management than the average driver case (even if the case is aluminum), so they certainly should only be barely warm. I guarantee, however, that the driver is producing far less heat watts than the lights. It is just really bad at releasing the heat it generates so it gets hot AF.

As I agreed with NanoGadget, there are situations when every bit of heat counts.

I'd be curious as to the actual numbers. Totally agree that the heatsinks will disperse better than the case the driver is in. @Stephenj37826 Have you guys ever run any tests to find out how much heat the drivers put out versus how much the heatsinks put out?

As its probably half the advertised wattage should match the HPS. Or i could possibly use it for veg and then for budding use both HPS and this LED? or would that be too much

looks like its only 110w I wouldn't be replacing a HPS with that.

That light righr there, and the claims the manufacturer is making are the reason that a lot of growers distrust and dislike LED grow lights. Absolute junk being marketed like a miracle. The very best LED on the planet still need 600+ actual watts to get close to the performance of a 1000w hps.

have this thing about putting an HPS in a closet

for whole room (med to large) I would use HPS and throw in a few blurples

for my closet I prefer COB, LED (my blurple has UV, and IR, and white light), and CFL

I add the CFL and some shop lights to bring my temps up to 30 C lest no transpiration occurs due to low temps
