Differences between topping and not.

I believe that you will yield more with a single topping. I've been reading quite abit about this and have zeroed in on auxins and the way they work and affect plant growth. You are basically making the plant think that it now has multiple colas instead of one main one thereby making it divert auxins to those other sites, increasing the yield at each one. I'm thinking I will top my next run or try 4-way LST. Just search auxins and you will find a decent amount of info on it.

all these years I have been topping plants I always give them at least 5 days more of veg more if I have the time. Why 5 days, don't know it just works out that way most times. The effects have been very positive IMHO. I can expect at the least 1 king bud and the best I have gotten is 5 Kings, most times it's 2 to 3 Kings. It will increase your overall yield. Great way to get your clones for the next batch.

Thnx guys! I decided NOT to top this grow. Ima LST this crop instead to see what i get out of it, so i know what to expect the next grow. And if this goes bad ill definately top the next crop.

So difficult to answer this question. I find that "to top or not to top" relies on the plant and its genetics. I have topped some plants that are generally single main cola baseball bat structure and the side branches made nugs and colas as serious and thick as if I were to leave it untopped except now I have 6 baseball bats instead of 1 almost the same in size. I have also topped single cola plants and even with many side branches, they would honestly have yielded more if not topped.

In the end... just do what you want to do
