Diesel Ryder Grow

I've been growing some diesel ryder plants for the past 5 weeks. They're doing good so far Ive had a problem with nute burn and now I think I'm having a problem with mg def. My stems are turning a bit purple and a few of the older leaves turned yellow over night.

Here's a fw pics of my set up.

And heres a few pics of my plants the last ones a close up of the smallest plant the stems are really purple and easiest to see.

Oh a bit more info, I have 6 plants I couldn't find fem diesel ryder so I planted 6 so I hopefully get 3 females... So far one male and I'm pretty sure two are starting to get two little hairs..

this looks nice. I just want to point out that most people run into issues with stretching and keeping the lights too far away from the plant. Watch out for that, but this looks so nice. I like it.

I'm also curious as to what nutrients you purchased. igardenshoppe has some decent alternative nutrients.
If you went to your grocery store, you can pick up a pool tester for like 3 bucks to test the ph levels.

I have a ph test kit for aquariums it seems to be doing an alright job. it's a bit hard to tell the exact difference between tjhe shades of orange though.

The stems seems to be less purple after a larger dose of nutes than I gave them last week.

Found one more male, took him out of the garden and now am hoping for one more female to show herself to make the count 3-3.

Having a few problems with reservoir temp. Black is a silly colour for a reservoir if you ask me. been trying to cool it down by leaning frozen bottles on the reservoir with no luck, any other suggestions?

So I've found a new home for the bunch just need to actually do the move.... Im not pleased but that's life I suppose.
On a good note I've sorta figured out a way to cool the water down. I've added a funnel filled with nute ice cubes. it slowly drips into the res, its not near any roots and seems to be helping with temp and low humidity issues I've been having. it drips right onto an air stone so im hoping there won't be negative effects. any opinions on this?

anyone have suggestions on a better way?

Try going to your local walmart and buying a thermal blanket in the outdoors section. Its a giant folded up peice of mylar. It will keep reflect a good amount of light and heat from the reservoir if you cover it up with that.

thanks for the input guys, Im thinking in a few days when I have more cash around I might pick up a few of those blankets, they would also be good to use as liner for the reflectors I want to make to use on the extra cfls.

what bulbs are best to have? I have two soft white( which look kinda orange) and two day light bulbs(white light is this good or should I use all of one type, right now 2 plants are about 4-5 days into flowering and two aren't showing yet.

since your in the flowering stage i would suggest getting more of the soft white bulbs you actually do want more of that orange or reddish light, flowering plants just love them and it promotes bigger bud growth unlike the daylights which is more for the vegging faze of the plant they look good

alright, sounds good. I think with the mylar cover, a few reflectors , 1-2 more cfls and a bulb replacement to all soft white my grow will be great! Thanks for the help and ill get some more pics posted in a few days.

looks good, if you get another male you should consider(if its not too late already)
leaving him in to pollinate the females, you wont have to buy seeds for awhile!

I'm going for seedless buds this go around, so I'll be chucking ALL the males that pop up. I have a friend who's got a rather large mother plant who's willing to give me a few clones once my lowryder experiments are done, I still have 4 seeds left after these ones are done as well so I should be fine for seeds/clones :)
