If you've got a harsh batch, try water-curing. Your stash will smell like shit while you're doing it, but once the smoke is dried after the cure it'll be MUCH more smooth and considerable more potent.
Flushing is something that is WAAAAAY over emphasized and over done. This will be a good time for you to see what the differences are between flushing and not flushing. Please report back.
