did i start seeds too earily?

I planted 32 seeds yesterday which are all in a average size closet. I plan to plant them outdoor end of april-mid may. question is did i start these seeds too earily? I don't want to grow the plants in my closet. i am hoping they'll be 3/4 ft - 1 ft when i plant them in the ground.
I live in the low alpines. snow usually leaves mid april-mid may all depending on elevation.
The strains are BC Mango and White Widow.

make sure they get enough light in your closet and an ocilating fan to stouten them up youll be fine. dont plant untill chances of frosts have past. whatch out for plants getting rootbound. good luck

I definitely have the itch to get them out there. im glad this year will be an early spring.
I'll be using 3-4 4ft T5 sun blasters.
What happens when they get rootbound?
Also.. im sure i'll be able to determine sex within 2 months. am i correct on that?

32 plants is a lot for an average closet space, considering that some will not sprout, just plant em in big enough containers. they dont have to be too big maybe 1-2 gallon pots???
as for sexing, i know that they will show after a certain lenghth in veg but im unsure how long that is......anyone know ?

keep the lights real close to the tops within an inch. when plants get root bound its harder to transplant them and basicaly they have outgrown their pots. this will have a negative impact on transplanting and feeding them and may cause fertilizer lockup. keep your pots big from the start so there is no need to continually repot them as they outgrow their pots. this will cause unnessary stress on the plant. most plants you can determine sex at 2 months if they are going to be on 24 hours lighting you may never see their sex untill you change the lighting. if you want cut a clone of each plant mark them well and put the clone under 12 12 it will show its sex and the mother/father will be the same. no need to mess with your big ones. if you have the room and can clone good its an easy way to determine sex early. good luck

You don't need a clone box, just a makeshift humidity dome. There are plenty of great threads on here showing you how to clone. Many very experienced growers swear by them.

I have made humidity domes from mop buckets and saran wrap before, with only a $2 CFL for lighting. I am not the best cloner dude in the world, but I get decent results when I stay patient on them. Clones sometimes take forever to root

also get some good rooting hormone if you do cut clones. stay away from powders thats my opinion anyway. i like gels. but i also am not the best cloner. some plants will root if you cut em and just stick em in rockwool others are fussy and take time, but definitly gel hormones i would suggest. and like dukeofbaja said make your own humidity dome, box keep it 90-100% humid under a floresent bulb and it will work. they dont need much light to root.but keep em under24 hours untill good roots form then switch 12 12 and you can force them to show their sex. this seems like alot of work but its not bad and its good fun. peace

if your going out in april or may you could turn your 32 plants into 320 if you wanted to clone all of them I start on Valentines day each year and I plant end of may and they are 12"-16" and all have pre -sexed OR you can wait till they are 4-6" tall and flip to 12/12 for 2 weeks and sex them then go 24/0 till you plant outside

Plant in mid to late may and the white widow gets huge huge outdoors my bubby in mt grows it and seen picks of a 12footer and a damn near 15 footer just not as strong as i would hope for about 12% thc if it was at 15%+ thc it would be great but it does produce huge buds!!!and dont freak that the bud is not white it is orange/gold very pretty buds!!!huge huge huge!!

now im pumped.
my ww are the first to sprout, 4 out of 32 on day 3-4. im hoping to clone a bunch from the mothers then toss them outside when they are 8"-10". humidity domes seem to be the best, thats what im going to plan.

question.. the sproutlings that are coming up are 3-4" high. the temp is usually 83 and humidity is around 70-80%, is this good?
i also have flourescents running 20/4.
I also have a few plants 8-10" high. is it ok to have these plants and the sproutlings on the same light schedule?

those temps and humidity are fine for now, u will want them to be lower once they are a few days older. around 75 F and RH of around 50%. make sure if u are using a humidity dome that you let some air in once and a while and take it of once all the seeds have popped, or you run the risk of dampening off and rot.

hope that helped.
