First, The info posted here is great. Thanks to those who post good content.

I think I have an over fertilization problem.
these have been with me for a week they are clones I got in 4" pots. the leaves are orange peely and are browning on the edges and in between the veins. sorry for the crappy pics.
Can you guys confirm this diagnosis.

My method of remedy is to clean the res and tray and do the next weeks watering with a 50% strength solution. I'm using aqua flakes a/b, roots excellerator and superthrive.

my next question is: What should the nutrient range on my meter be? In Jorge's book there is only one reference to TDS (what my meter reads) and from that I think my TDS is double what it should be. Also what is the calculation to get EC from TDS.

I moved the probes and stirred the res and my reading went up to this

Thanks in advance for the help.

You can't convert EC to TDS. That's like converting MPH into hours - makes no sense. EC is a measurement of TDS. The other measurement of TDS is ppm. Here is a converter for EC to ppm:

From the pics, I think you have overnuted them. Check on your nute manufacturers website and see what they suggest for ppms.

yeah, so I checked the ec suggested by the manufacturer and I'm at 300-500% of that. SO? Do I immediately drain and water with correct levels of nutes even though I just flushed last night? I think I should to keep my toxic chem concoction from sitting on the roots any longer than they have to.

I think I would run some straight water through each pot and then at the next watering start back up with the proper level of nutes.
