dessicant (think Damp Rid) for drying/curing?

I know some shroomers dry their fruits w/ damp rid by placing a layer of it in a big tupperware container, then placing the shrooms on a rack an inch or so above it.

I realize most ppl say air flow is the key, but if shrooms can dry to a crisp this way in a few days w/out air flow, why not buds?

Any one tried this w/ buds? results?

i dont know what damp rid is but i would try it with a small amount first to test. I wouldn;t be suprised if it completely ruined the taste and made it burn harsh

it's a dessicant u can find in the laundry section of hardware stores... comes in a milk carton package that can be opened up and left in a humid room.

ruining the taste or leaving chem was my first thought, but it doesn't actually touch any of the plant and doesn't release anything into the air as far as I know... it just traps moisture out of the air. I've seen it used for shrooms, but no idea if it affected the taste since they taste like dookie anyhow:spew:

just curious if anyone had first hand experience w/ it

Did you harvest when the plant was fully mature? Did you cure for at least a month before trying the bud?

you should get a little dehumidifier. go to amazon and search "evadry" it sucks moisture out of the air and when its full you plug it into the wall in a different room to dry it back out and reuse it.

its cheap and works great i use it in the summer when the air is muggy but i don't need it in the winter cuz theres so little humidity in the first place. but i use it within a room with air coming in and air going out so its a little different then what you're trying to do... theres pretty much no way around the fact that weed that dries too fast will taste like shit
