Dehumidifier question

I’m setting up for my budget for a commercial MMJ grow. I’m planning on doing a automated irrigation system on a 950 sqft flower room. At 500 plants in flower at roughly 1 gallon of fertilization per plant over 12 hours means roughly 500 gallons of humidity I’ll have to eliminate. Everything I’ve read says a ac unit will handle 10% so 2-5ton units should remove 50 gallons leaving 450. 450gal converted to pints is 3,600 pints! So that brings me to my actual question. Is my math wrong? Do I really need 5 quest 506 units in a 950sqft room? That seems like a huge amount of dehumidification for such a small area. Thank for reading.
Edit: it will be a complete sealed environment.

You’re forgetting that your 500 gallons isn’t all going to sit in the air requiring removal.

most will be sucked up by the plants roots and medium (presuming you’re using a medium?)

If you’re not using a medium and instead choose something inert then you should be recirculating back all the drain runoff back into your reservoir.

so again any runoff will be contained and covered.

Im not a commercial guy @Lordhooha maybe able to help you out more or @DoubleAtotheRON too.

but I think you’re assuming all water given is then suspended in the air and needing removal.

It will be the plants that transpire and add to the humidity more than any water would In this situation.

@Lordhooha @DoubleAtotheRON can you impart some words of wisdom here guys?

Thanks for the reply. Yes we will be doing rockwool with a dedicated return for run off. I’ve looked at a few online conversion/estimation calculators and I’ve had wildly differing requirements. I know Aaron is doing soil so I’m not sure if his needs are applicable but that’s why I’m asking. For reference we will be doing 5-tiered 4x24 rolling benches in a 30x30 sealed room, led lighting and 6 feeding a day. I would rather have a abundance of dehumidification being we are in a humid area but at 13k each for a quest 876 I don’t want to buy 4 if 2 will give me the vpd I need.

Like any new buildout, your going to find yourself saying "Oh shit, I need XXXX".. So, I'd get 2, but budget for 4. It's always something until you get it dialed in after a few grows. But like anything else... If you think it's gonna cost XXXXX amount, just double it.

Thanks Mr Aaron, I plan on starting out over built on ac and dehumidification because of our weather here. That’s if the morons that run our county don’t opt out. I’m planning on bringing 10 people to the board of supervisors meeting Monday morning. Our county voted MM in at 70% so for 5 asshats want to play god because they feel the need to flex their power is Bs.

Post a build out thread when you get this going. I'd like to see it bro!
