Defoliation

Hello fellow growers :weed:

Today marks Day 14 of the 2 clones I transplanted & WOW the growth has been insane.

I've started LST pretty heavily on the Blue Lemonine because she has shot up exponentially compared to the Pineapple Breeze. I don't understand the difference in growth other than the roots possibly taking hold and growing out faster than the other.

My question from the pictures below, at what point do I begin to defoliate some of the lower leaf? I understand the larger fan leaf is where they get most of their energy for photosynthesis so I've left those alone. Any advice is appreciated :D

Personally, I wouldn't defoliate anything that young or that small. It needs those leafs for it's growth. I think you will end up with a skinny little twig for a plant it do it now.

No no no, I don't plan on doing it now. I was just asking whats a general time most people defoliate. I've taken off a couple of leafs so far, but they had deficiencies from the original cut of the clone.

For sure, thanks for the tip. How heavy do you go on the defoliation? I've seen vids and pictures of people's plants where they entirely strip the lower half of leaf.
Everyone has seen that kind of a video. Maybe, and that's just a maybe, he won't destroy his plant. Not a good idea to try to get a grower to do highly advanced trimming of his plant if he's not used to it. At this stage I'dsay pinch the top but leave the rest for LST and plant development.

so i go pretty hard on week 5 or week 1 of flower if you prefer taking all the leaves and new growth from the first 2 or 3 bud sites from all the lower branches
