Just unsure which parts to cut and what to not. I've gone ahead and trimmed some of the larger fan leafs off under the canopy anyway. Seemed to help, but if like opinions or advice.

Strain, strawberry Gelato
Pheno, green rush farms
Genetics, elev8
Light, mars hydro ts-600
Tent, 2x2 (aiming for 8oz)
Nutes, fox farm main 3, open sesame, beastie blooms, cha ching, cal mag (added iron sulfate once to oh the soil better)

Plants are about 3wks in veg, got them as rooted clones.

There are various opinions about defoliation here. My personal is to defol when I flip to flower. I take off about the bottom 1/3 of the leaves, the ones that aren't getting any direct light. I also trim off some of the highest fan leaves that are blocking bud sites just underneath them. After the plants stop stretching, I again take off leaves that are blocking light to bud sites. I also take off any of the thin, lower side shoots that I think will only make little popcorn fluff buds. Some people do not defol at all, and some strip the plants almost naked.

i would trim off the lower third of the plants side branches and all and maybe a few fan leaves just leave everything thats going to reach up above the net and do it before flipping like right now

Thank you, cleared up a bunch more fan leaves and smaller stuff twords the bottom. Few tops below the canopy I'm gonna give a chance. Just to be clear, is the idea of removing the large fan leafs is to encourage growth in budsites and tops?
