Defoliating question(s) concerning Chemdawg

I guess firstly, are they good strains to defoliate? If so, when is its "stretch" over... 20,21 22 days into flower? I've seen 2 grow journals growing chemdawg that have defoliated, but that's about it. I think one of them did 21/45 and the other I don't remember. Not a whole lot of data to go by, any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

Don't defoilate. The plant will get rid of leaves it doesn't need itself, No need for your intervention

IMO It's not good to defoliate in mid flower. :dunce: You can DOOIIT

Thanks guys! I'm not 100% certain on defoliating, just gathering information, but it seems to work quite well. Why do you suggest against it? Anyone out there have experience defoliating Chemdawg?

Because the whole concept of providing "light to bud sites" is a myth. that isn't how bud sites work. photosynthesis takes place everywhere and directs energy where needed.

a plant will rid itself of useless leaves all on its own. no intervention needed.

ETA only reason I can see for defoliation is for improved airflow, if needed. Otherwise I just see people purposely handicapping their grow

Not again! Excuse me, but how about doing a fuckin' search on this (stupid) practice of removing the very unit that produces bud! This topic has been discussed to death.

how many hacked plants I saw it's sad :cry: people who chopped their plants to such an extend it looked like torture, leaving only bits of little leaves here and there. please don't do this, at least if you want to do it, post it in the "MJ horror" sub-forum

I understory mine when I tie them into a screen. Anything that wont make it to the light is removed.
