Deceptive billing from MSNL seeds

I decided to buy some seeds from MSNL. Seemed like a good deal, but come to find out the shipping was $17 which is bad, but I decided to go with it, and then my card ended up being charged $7 more on top of that. I contacted them and they said their banks in china, and the extra charges were the exchange rate. They don’t say anything about that at check out. I told them that is deceptive, and they told me tough shit. Ended up not being a good deal.

I've ordered from them in the past without any issues.

So an extra 30 cents per seed was a deal breaker?

Extra $1 per seed, but it’s the point that they are deceptive with their billing. I hate being deceived.

I doubt they said "tough shit". Either way dispute the charges with your credit card company.

It’s not worth the dispute to me, but I just wanted to make others aware that they could expect it if they order from them. Tack on a few extra bucks with your order whether they show it or not.

Do you have a copy of the invoice for your purchase? I didn't see any mention of extra charges on the webpage.

I don't understand the problem.
You knew upfront that the shipping was $17 and you accepted it...........that's cheap by the way IMO........I've never bought anything that ships for free.
You must understand that exchange rates change regularly.........I've had orders change a few dollars before with other types of overseas purchases.
So your whole beef is $7?
I can't tell you within $7 how much is in my pocket.

If you're ordering seeds from a diff country wouldn't you expect there be an exchange rate??

Customer service is definitely not their strong suit. Expect to be disappointed when ordering from MSNL- my experience

I know someone who's never had any issues with registered t-shirt postage.

Their auction site is a great deal -- and winning is fun.

From their website:
"Outside EU it cost 35 for T shirt postage registered, 20 without T shirt and without registered.....
Inside EU it costs 13.50 for registered."

I've seen UK banks have to change credit card processors many times over the years, to keep up with each time their service gets blacklisted for processing-but those are usually located in Italy or Spain, no way would I use a Chinese card processor.

Exactly being over here one would expect Europe or something not a chinese processor for card payments i dont trust that much myself either

I am noticing a lot of companies small and large doing skeemy stuff like that. The pizza place I like going to now hands you the receipt and taps the tip box with the pen like putting you on the spot to tip them, I gave no tip last time cause I don't like being pressured to tip for someone handing me a pizza that already was overpriced. They STILL CHARGED my card $20 even though the order was $18.35. Not even enough to complain about but goddamn everywhere stealing dollars.
