What are a few suggestions for a dehumidifier for a tent 6.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 with a temps and RH now a few days into 12/12 at 77F RH is 55 when lights on, when off 79F RH 59-61? I can't afford the top of the line stuff...has to be good ones out there that won't break the bank.

Thanks

what do you have for an exhaust fan?
do you run the fan when lights are off?
why is you temp. higher when lights off?

i have a couple of dehumidifiers, 1 is digital with setpoint, temp and room humidity display. capacity is 65 pints and 7.4 amps. its a nice unit but was like 350 bucks about 10 years ago. downfall is that you can not turn it off and on with a timer. only turn it off.

the other is in the room and cant check it out. but its the same capacity and not digital. but i can control it with a timer to come on when the lights go out. was around 225 buck a couple years ago.

you need to think either 1 for the tent or 1 for the room your getting intake air from. both the ones i have will do a big room but i use mine in the same size room as your tent.

smaller is nice but if you have to empty the bucket, a larger is nice so you dont empty it as often. most come with a place to connect a hose or tubing and auto drain into a sump pump in the floor.

Have a 6" 160 cfm inline fan and a 6" filter combo from HTG that runs 24/7
Tent is In my basement with surrounding temps at 70F
I run my bathroom ac hose in the top hole of the tent when lights are on...take it out when lights are off. That's the only reason I can think of that the temps are higher when off.

$300 and $200 is what I'm trying to stay away from. I don't have a problem emptying a reservoir a few times a day. This will go in the tent.

Have any suggestions for any that are less $$?.........

you will just have to shop around and see what you can find. everyone sells them.

if you run the dehumidifier inside the tent, you will want to turn the fan off.

i would get one for the whole room and keep you fan running 24 hours a day

Is it really that hard for someone to recommend a decent, not expensive dehumidifier? lol, "shop around, everyone has them"?? While I appreciate you having a few expensive units and the advice on what to do with them, I have to revert back to my original question.

You should infer from the answers that you're not going to get a good dehumidifier from a store for $50, or whatever you're trying to spend.
If you DO go to the store and buy a 50$ dehumidifier, it wont be long before you realize it can't get the job done, and you'll be out 50$ and still have a humid room. Check craigslist to see if you can find a good dehuey going for cheap, or realize that this is an investment and cough up another hundred.

I want a 50" plasma screen tv but I don't want to spend more than 50 bucks.

What do you want people to say?

with your temps and rh i would not get a dehumidifier. maybe just make sur of good air flow. those rh numbers arent bad and a dehumidifier is a heater, you will then need ac, and on and on.

Here's a start...."with your temps and rh i would not get a dehumidifier. maybe just make sur of good air flow. those rh numbers arent bad and a dehumidifier is a heater, you will then need ac, and on and on"

This is by far the most helpful reply. While it didn't suggest a unit, dude did pretty much said the numbers are 'ok', so don't sweat it about a dehumidifier.

I never said I wanted a top of the line. If you or anyone else doesn't know, then why jump in here with all this babble about tv's and cht??

Pretty simple, anyone know of a decent dehumidifier that won't break the bank? If so, let me know..if not....well there are thousands of posts on this fourm..click next??

I didn't think my humidity lvls are so high that it would take a 'TRON5000000 SUPER DUPER DESERT AIR MAKER' to lower them a little.

You seriously going to 'back up' that first reply on here to my question? hahah, wow.. that reply made as much sense as telling everyone here, why don't we all just google our questions instead of coming on this fourm.. I may be high, but I don't need somebody to tell me to check on craigslist or go spend a lot of money, for an answer. That's some funny cht.

I think I'll go post to post and just say 'idk bro, good luck, idk bro, good luck, idk bro, good luck'... That would make sense AND raise my total post reply numbers...............

i have gotten both of my dehumidifiers at walmart, a 35 and a 50ppd, and had no problems. maintenance is the key. every 6months i take the cover off and clean the coils to keep performance level high and not waste electric.

60% humidity at around week 7 of flower is looking for budrot. so if you think you dont need one then good luck. your going to spend around 200 bucks for anything decent or you need to get a used one.

Ok, RH has crept down this 4th day since going 12/12 to 54 with the lights off. I'm pretty sure it was higher due to the flushing of 24 plants then them put back in the tent. With light on it was 49 RH.

Pick up something like those and see where it gets you before you drop a bunch of money on a dehu. I have the bucket and it drops my tents RH by about 5-8%. i have a 4.5x4.5x7.5 tent
No harm in trying stuff like this...if it doesn't work, HD has a return policy..simple. Thx for the links bro.

+1 on the keeping coils clean bro. ol lady thinks im nuts when i pull the frige out bout every 3 months and vac and wipe the coils off. That cht goes a long way with preventive.

sounds like your one of the lucky ones with temp and rh. just make sure to have good air movement and you should be good.
