Photos for me.
Never had an auto that came close to the first plants I ever grew when I was clueless kid.

Saying that though, I’ve seen some good looking stuff from mephisto...

Yeah lots of auto clones running around.

I don't need to run auto clones to know whether training will yield more than those not trained...
That was my point.

Any training slows down any plant, photo or auto. Sure training a photo or auto can maximize your usable indoor space, but somewhere that isnt a worry an untrained plant will produce more in a shorter period of time.. An auto has no extra time

Oops I trained my auto. Definitely ruined it's yield. It's called Low Stress Training for a reason.

I am not against autos in any way, just appreciate what they are. I personally dont require alot of pot.
An auto would get me plenty high for my tastes, and last fine. I do not and have never grown for yield, just for myself. I train my plants indoors and out.
But the fact is that training slows things down.

So you're saying I would have yielded more if I didn't train it?

I think fem beans for beginners, photo..running autos myself and I've been impressed with night owl and mephisto..Mosca too. In my opinion its in the genetics. These guys work hard pheno hunting. It all depends on what your needs are

Are you indoors? Are you trying to maximize you light footprint?
In a perfect space, without training, an unfucked with plant will outgrow its equal.
Yes indoors. Yes I maximized my space based on the flood table the plants were sitting in. Keep in mind plant count. Can't run SOG.

Also that's just not true. I'd love to see an untrained auto out yield a properly cared for and trained one.

Autos are generally shorter that photos. When growing Sativa indoors, a 2-3' foot Auto plant is better than an 11 foot photo plant!
