For some folk one identity is simply not enough to generate the attention and drama they require
thus creating and maintaining multiple identities allows for more interaction, more potential drama/attention
if someone is able to post 100 times per day, it is not a huge leap of the imagination to suggest they could post 25 times per day on 4 separate accounts
each account could have more posts than the average user, these people have 30 hours in every day their time is basically unlimited
when things become a little quiet
they can then make good use of their multiple personalities
identities with conflicting opinions can be used to create some drama
it has even been known that some sadistic trolls (facebook) will insult themselves from one of their identities, hoping that others will defend them
when the troll is able to successfully convince others that they are "someone else" this is seen as a (win)
they enjoy the (deception)
although they will possibly use words like "pwned" or "owned" to declare their victory
